This year I have bought tickets for a couple of performances, The Hound of the Baskervilles, and Da Vinci. The ticket purchasing system has been simplified, and printed tickets are no longer needed, electronic tickets are scanned from your cell phone. Be aware, that even on a rainy day, you must show up and wait till official decision is made to cancel the performance. We drove 35 minutes in absolute torrential rain, with thunder and lightning, waited with a crowd of people till 9.30 pm, at which time the rain has subsided and an official decision was announced, the after a delay of 15 minutes, the performance will start. Surprise! We had blankets, warm clothes and rain ponchos, so we were able to sit on the wet seats fairly comfortably, and amazingly, the rain stayed away. As far as the Hound of the Baskervilles story - not the best, few jokes were attempted, no music, fairly boring. I am hoping Da Vinci will be more entertaining. But the castle grounds theater setting is just spectacular.

We visited the town and it's gardens shortly after wider COVID restrictions release. A few people there so one can much more enjoy the city and it's gardens, the beauty and it's atmosphere, even in a rainy day! We were in the open air theatre placed in the beautiful garden some time ago and saw the Carmen...in a hot summer night! So deep impression. We would vote for its stay there despite of meaning of EC or someone else.

Very famous and unique revolving auditorium theater in the medieval town of Český Krumlov, set in the beautiful gardens of 2nd largest castle in the Czech Republic.
I was fortunate to get 4 tickets 2 weeks before the performance of the play Dracula. I looked up the web site - I am enclosing screen shots to help, and ordered tickets from Florida, paid with my Visa credit card. The tickets for the season (June through beginning of September) start selling well in advance, January or maybe even earlier. If you see a performance you like, keep checking the seating chart, if you get lucky like me, someone could cancel at the last minute. I printed the transaction and the seating assignment and presented it at the box office at the back entrance to the castle garden, where the lady told me off for not printing the tickets as well ( but she was absolutely able to print it for us herself and they were very pretty😁I must say speaking the language helps. Some performances have english subtitles that you can follow on your cell phone.
Warning - toilets are scarce and very busy/ long line, go before you get to the theater. There is no intermission! Refreshments are available. Warmer clothing is advised, casual, and lots of people bring blankets or seating cushions, for the seats are hard. Umbrellas are forbidden, take a poncho in case. Evening performances usually start at 9.30 pm, there are some day performances for children groups.
I took screen shots of program and ticket info, good luck!

You have to cross the Cloak Bridge of the Castle to reach this unique theater. This theater was built around 1680. It was renovated and mechanized in 1765. Designers from Vienna were brought to Cesky Krumlov to decorate this revolving Baroque Theater in which scenes would change as it turned around. This theater has a legend associated with it too. They say a beautiful actress came here with a touring drama group and fell in love with the local hero. As her love was not reciprocated she stabbed herself during the play and died on the stage. They say the blood stains could not be erased for centuries and reminded everyone of her pain.

Do not hesitate to see some opera or ballet performance. It is really worth the money! This is the first open air theater of this type, unique because of the landscape garden. And the artists are excellent! It is not "tourist trap" :-)

Cesky Krumlov itself is a UNESCO World Heritage Site - be prepared as there are many tourists there now - but the frosting on the cake is to attend a production at the Revolving Auditorium in the Castle Gardens (second largest castle in Czech Republic after Prague Castle). South Bohemian Theatre puts on plays, ballets, and operas there, and for a non-Czech speaking person with a knowledge of opera it is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience because of the 360-degree staging possibilities and the bringing of the audience directly into the action by means of the movement of the auditorium. Even watching the You Tube videos gives little idea of the immensity of the canvas, and the genius with which the company stages their productions. Because ballet is an integral part of their program it was prominent in the production of Rusalka, a show they have been doing for 50 years. If you don't want to walk uphill for 20 minutes through the Castle to get there take a taxi and be prepared with blankets if the show starts at 9pm - it can get cold, even in summer. Also there are no intermissions. This might be the opera production you'll remember for the rest of your life.

This is a unique experience, as this type of theater is only here and in Finland Tampere. The whole auditorium turns to that part, where something is happening. The Verdi opera Il trovatore what we had and it was very good. First of all the stage director made an excellent performances. Some voices were also very good.

The "theatre" is absolutely unique. We bought tickets for The Three Musketeers. It is lifetime experince thanks to revolving auditorium. You´ll fell like a part of the play. You´ll be on the market place and after couple second you´ll be close to the fight or horse chase.
Ticket prices are normal, but there are often sold out. Be sure to bring a blanket with you.
It´s situated in nice park but there is only one restaurant so you´ll need to make a reservation or visit some other restaurant in the city.
