Reviews Summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.

The Wenceslas Square Hotel sits in a prime location lauded by many guests for its easy access to local attractions and transit. While the hotel's cleanliness and breakfast selection receive commendation, some travelers express dissatisfaction with the quality of amenities, noting a shortage of in-room conveniences such as kettles. Service experiences at the hotel seem to be a toss-up, with reports of both commendable and disappointing interactions with staff. Opinions on the atmosphere are divided, with some appreciating the charm and others finding the decor wanting. Additionally, the hotel's value and room descriptions have faced criticism for not meeting the expectations of a 4-star establishment.

Booked before Christmas. On arrival our rooms did not match booking. One small with no window the other on two levels with dangerous steps/ stairs. Requested different rooms - none available . We were eventually transferred to another hotel.

Not what expected from the advertisement. We had •one small window above us on a slanted roof-no view, couldn’t open window-so no fresh air, very little natural light, felt slightly claustrophobic. •cleanliness could improve-we had huge spider web from the beginning to the end of our stay above bathroom door (5 days) However, we had fresh towels everyday provided. •Double bed with two single mattress (one of the mattress was bend causing back pain after sleeping ) •Basic facilities-one mirror which had poor lighting not good for doing make up. No kettle. Very small fridge filled with their items to buy. Very small bathroom. • we were charged €50 for drinks in the fridge which we didn’t use. Waiting 2 weeks for refund.

We really liked this hotel,we were on 5 floor(recommend not taking spiral staircase our legs turned to jelly doing this)the room was dated in its design but very spacious, comfatable beds, writing desk and seperate table with chairs to sit and have drink, bonus was skylights that gave an amazing view over Prague.Buffet style breakfast with plenty of options and strong coffee. The staff we interacted with were very friendly one member even sat and played a hand of cards with us as we waited for our transferBe warned NewTown is very noisy in morning always lots of sirens, but the location makes up for this, its up a side street at very top of Wenceslas square,2mins walk from national museum and metro station and has a restaurant right next door with extremely tasty authentic Czech food and hotel gave us a voucher for free shots there as well.

I don’t normally review hotels after my stay if it hasn’t been quite up to standard however, this was something else. It’s almost as if the hotel is segregated. Half of the rooms (the ones they show photos of when you book it) are nice, as one our group was lucky enough to get one despite being what the photos on the website on our booking were of. Our rooms, the other 7 of us, were absolutely dreadful and couldn’t even be explained as being a mix up, it genuinely looks like another hotel entirely. The rooms were a completely different colour, style, carpet and the toughest single beds you’ve ever seen, despite paying for a double bed. The room i was given not only was small, dirty and not very even remotely like the photos, the hairdryer didn’t work and my favourite addition to the room, the complimentary water that had its own wildlife and skin on top, it was full of flies and had a skin on top, clearly been there for quite some time and wasn’t changed during the duration of my 2 night trip. The staff also don’t speak to you unless you’re in one of the nicer rooms, my friend had a lovely time and constantly checked in on that her time there was good. It was hardly a surprise that I wasn’t asked how my stay was at the Amityville House equivalent. I’ve travelled a lot in my time and this was the worst place I’ve ever stayed and wouldn’t come back. If this was a dating site, you’d have been catfished by the website.

Me and my partner came to Prague for our 4 year anniversary. We arrived late evening on a Thursday around 930pm at this hotel the check in was amazing straight forward. We had room 063 which was up 5 flights of stairs plus some more along the way. We had booked a double room which on booking was a nice spacious double. However, the room consisted of 2 single beds not even opposite one another on strange angles a tiny walk way, my partner is 5ft9 and couldn’t even stand up properly-the room was not clean. I was so upset- I go to the reception and ask and explain this is not what was sold to us ie the picture on the website and I had also booked a double room therefore it’s false advertising. After a lot of talking and explaining 45 minutes later I was shown pictures of the rooms left in the hotel which was all still twin rooms we took a twin room on the bases it was just for one night 012 and the next morning a deluxe room would be offered due to compensation. We had an agreement that the next morning at 11am after the receptionist had spoken to the manager would arrange a room suitable for the booking we had made and believed that we would get initially or even better due to the compensation. So next morning we head downstairs at 11am it’s a different receptionist they had no idea of this complaint we had made and no history of what was said the previous night. I had to explain again - he took my phone number and said he would message over WhatsApp to see what we can do but will be about 2/3pm. 5pm no message we approach the receptionist and he said we are not able to have the deluxe room but the is another room which was available. However the room was in the on the top floor again my partner couldn’t even stand up so we stayed in the twin room. I am just writing this review to be mindful when booking this hotel they is a wide range of rooms which you may get within the same price range. My partner has stayed in hostels for 15 pounds per night and the room we was initially shown 063 was far worse than any.

Very well positioned hotel just off the square. Well priced, friendly staff, Kate and Pavel were lovely. Try the roof top bar at the hotel. Also walk away from the main attractions. We found a lovely little wine and cheese bar called Wine Friends up past the hotel in a quieter part.

Standard hotel, but brilliant location. Right on the Main Street, in walking distance to all the main attractions. Cheap to get to from airport in an Uber. But there was some downfalls, we were woken numerous times a night due to our room facing the road, and for some reason the police are blue lighting constantly. Meaning you will hear sirens which woke us up at least 3 times every night. Also I’m not sure if there is an underground train or something, but the first night the bedroom door vibrated loudly which woke us up again many times, easy fix by putting something soft under the door. Staff very friendly and nice, hotel room was basic and not like pictures at all, I believe the pictures are the top floor deluxe rooms. Overall can not complain much, very affordable for the location, just a shame about being woken up constantly in the night.

Was quite worried about our stay here after reading negative reviews prior to coming but had a really enjoyable stay! The room was massive, dated but very clean and had everything you could need (except a kettle :( ) Breakfast was really tasty, Wasn’t much of a cooked selection so my boyfriend struggled to find something to have however great selection of pastries, fruits, yogurts and cereals aswell as deli meats and cheeses. The hotel was quite noisy, as can be expected from an old building, and it is on the main road. We slept fine for the majority of our stay except for the last night when we were woken by a tractor protest however that couldn’t be helped! Overall, don’t give in to all the bad reviews on here, if you’re expecting a 5 star hotel you will be disappointed. However if you’re looking for a cheap, quirky stay in a great location this hotel is perfect

Excellent location, within walking distance of the sights..although it's NOT situated in the upper end of Wenceslas Square at all, as stated in hotel description, it's not even ON the square, it's around the corner. Hotel itself was lovely & clean. Quite traditional in style & decor, with a beautiful iron spiral staircase. Situated opposite the stunning Nerodni Muzeum on a very busy road. We had room 56 on the 5th floor, we thought 'Fab, we'll have a fabulous view', WRONG! We had a very dated room (in good need of updating -holes in walls, a quirky window just above the floor which has been boarded up & screwed shut, cracks & chips in the bathroom sink, and a shower that's pressure is pitiful and doesn't maintain a decent temperature) & to top all that, a skylight window. A lot of students staying at the hotel - their teachers stay elsewhere. Breakfast is a buffet with a large choice of food. Some reviews state there's a welcome drink for guests - not mentioned to us.

I would give the location 5 stars, however the room we were given had no window except for a tiny little ceiling window, there were silver fish in the bathroom, the shower wouldn’t stay at a temperature it was very temperamental. the room had a weird smell. The staff were friendly enough but didn’t go out of their way to help you at all
