Delightful restaurant on Olomouc’s main, grand square. The decoration is a fun riot of folk-art. Offers all the local specialties, beers and wines. I had a terrific schnitzel. With potato salad, local beer, Zweigelt wine by the glass and mineral water, the bill for one...came to a reasonable Korona 1135, about A$60.More
I hate rest in center.usually it for tourists...But,this place deserve best review. Great service, fresh Kozel. Duck was amazing...
Everything about this place is beautiful especially the location in the main square of Olomouc. The service was excellent even down to the waiter not minding if we split the bill. The food was excellent as well. Would recommend this restaurant to everyone.
We went here 2 of the 3 nights we were in Olomouc because the food is amazing. The atmosphere inside is beyond charming. The atmosphere outside over looks the ornate Town Hall. Over the two nights, we had schnitzel, potato salad, cheese (this is famous...in Olomouc), cabbage salad, rosti, ribs, sauerkraut (best ever). The service was terrific. I highly recommend this restaurant.More
I recommend first of all the food, because it is the most important thing in any restaurant. Nevertheless, I think that service is equally important, and the service here is of the absolute highest level. The wait staff even refers to customers with maternal concern....Speaking of motherhood, I've been to many countries in Europe, Asia and North Africa, but by far the best cook is my mother, and they are first in line right behind her ☺️ Leaving sentimentalism aside, I'd also like to add that the decor of the restaurant really encourages you to sit in it, because it makes you feel cozy and the atmosphere of Moravia. This is my No. 1 restaurant in the world, and although they are from another country, I want to return again and again to Olomouc precisely because of this place. I recommend the delicious duck, excellent goulash, garlic butter served like nowhere else and delicious desserts. I visited the restaurant alone and with my girlfriend. I look forward to more opportunities to try new dishes.More
we liked everything about the place: the atmosphere, the friendly staff, and above all the food. The selection of Moravian cold cuts and the special cheese from Olomouc were above all the best part of the meal.
We were on a business trip and visited the restaurant twice. Both times we had different dishes and deserts, each of them was experimental and delicious. Mascarpone with cherries is the best desert I’ve tried so far. Highly recommended.
Winderful food & service. This restaurant is located directly on the main square! I made a reservation as the Christmas market is occurring… otherwise we would have not gotten a table. All the waiters do an excellent job working together to make sure the guests...get the high quality of service. The food was great… best in the Czech Republic…. As was the service. Excellent pork tenderloin with mushrooms, excellent schnitzel stuffed with famous Olomouc cheese and meat… as well as Garlic soup. Nice choices for wines and beer! I’d come here again… in a minute!More
I was quite disappointed... this restaurant offers just average quality meals. It is quite a tourist trap. Once you know czech cuisine and know, what to expect from the traditional local dishes, you won't appreciate this place.
Undoubtedly you will come across the same short list of dishes when traveling through this country, but this lovely restaurant cranks it up a notch with its charming old world decor and impeccable service. And of course, the food is done well. The mushroom sauce...was fragrant with wild mushrooms and the venison was tender and tasty. And I am not exaggerating by saying that Czech potatoes are the best in the world! ; )More
We usually avoid restaurants on main squares with great views of tourist sites, especially when their name is something like, well, "Moravian Restaurant." We're very glad that we broke with tradition this time and stopped in here for dinner, because everything was as fabulous as...the main square itself. Now, I've read a few reviews here and there in which people are complaining about the prices at this restaurant compared to "normal" local eateries. Olomouc does seem to have some great food, and we certainly only scratched the surface of the restaurant scene, but we've also been eating food in the Czech Republic and throughout Central Europe for a long time, and I have to say that, sure, you do pay more here than at a "regular" place serving local/regional fare, but you also get something way, way beyond a "usual" meal in terms of the quality of the ingredients, the skill of the preparation and presentation, and the professional level of the service. And, yeah, there's also that view and the overall atmosphere. If you want to experience the very best that cuisine in this part of the world has to offer, served up in a manner that is on par with a truly fine dining experience, this is the place to come...More
Im only writting reviews when places are great or poor. And That one was tragic. 1 out of 3 meals were very bad, traditional Chees was awful and my daughters schittzel was swimming in fat. Pork cheeks with bread were acceptable. Waiter wanted a tip...but on the same hand he didn’t even bother to ask if we like this food or not. At the end we got a pretty huge bill. Avoid if possible.More
Very good service, even better and tasty traditional and local dishes. The best place in the heart of Olomouc, a front of Trinity statue.
This restaurant is old-fashioned in the best meaning of the word. We were on our way to the theatre and wanted to have a “quick” meal. After not being successful at other venues ( Oh, you don’t have a reservation? Sorry..) here we got a...warm welcome and perfect service. The food was delicious and we enjoyed the meal very much! The interior of the place is in the traditional Moravian folk style, the waiters have the “old-school” style.More
