I had previously reviewed 4 years ago, the last time we visited for ACC baseball. Then, it was a quaint and comfortable baseball park but not a serious park or representative of a team that wanted to compete. Fast forward to 2019 and VT has clearly invested to upgrade facilities and the improvement is obvious. First, you have to pay to attend games. 4 years ago, you just walked in. There is better seating and great field views but family and student friendly areas with stone walls down the 3rd base side were retained and provides a great local touch.

Blacksburg is a beautiful area already and any trip here is rewarded with great views and hospitality but now attending a baseball series feels like an event instead of just an activity.

Definitely recommend.

English Field is a jewel in the VT crown! The renovations have paid off! Great seating! Super food and service! Reasonable costs. Family and picnic areas. Go immediately and often!

Home of the Virginia Tech Baseball Program. Also know as Union Park, the stadium just re-opened Spring 2018 after $18 Millon Rennovation. Now one of the top college baseball facilities in ACC or on the East Coast.

English Field is changing. Virginia Tech Athletics has a major renovation going this summer. That will result is a transformation to a much higher level for this site. Restricted seating and minimal amenities will give way to enhanced seating, covered areas, and new concessions. Let's hope the improvement translates into attracting higher level players and more victories. This is an impressive change to the facility.

English Field is in the middle of an $18 million renovation so lots of construction equipment. Currently there is no bleacher seating, but the terrace seating down the left field line still offers a great place to watch a game. In looking at the plans, this will be a first class venue when completed in 2018.

English Field has improved over the years. It is a first-class venue with great seating and a great atmosphere to watch the Hokies or guest teams using the field. I highly recommend it!

I love catching a few games in the spring. Also, baseball is such a unique sport to see live. It is a much different atmosphere than basketball or football. As regional college baseball fields go, English Field is mediocre. Liberty and UVa have amazing facilities. Also, I don't care for the turf in Blacksburg, either. Even Radford has a nice, new park. With that said, the game experience at VT is good, and I will return.

You can sit in the stand or on the terraced area down the third base line.

Games are free and although Virginia Tech is struggling this year, it's still a great place to spend an afternoon.

Great seats on the lawn. Views are great. If grass is wet, better bring a chair. Nice to be able to bring your own cooler and snacks.
