A day trip starting from Turin and took around 1hr by train. A small town and we walked around the it and relaxing as not much visitors. People are friendly and we love to spend full day here. The Arch is at the small hill and not too far from the town. Don’t expect too much and just a scene to look and taking some photos.

This monument has a lot of history and it represents the peace between Romans and the local tribes... 2000 years of history!
At the opposite, the monument is not well advertised.

While I didn't make the drive up to Susa just to see this arch, I think I would. Why not? It isn't like most people have a Roman arch in their backyards and this one, from what I could tell, is in excellent shape considering it was built around 8 B.C. There is also a piece of acqueduct, built around 370 A.D., right behind it. I found it to be a lovely walk up from the main square, not too difficult, through a small park. I believe anyone could do the walk as there is a section of paved road which goes right up to the arch (and which continues on but only for residents). I found the contrast of the Roman arch within view of the Alps to be really interesting and unexpected. Susa is a beautiful little town. I recommend it on a nice day.

This arch is dedicated to Augusto from the Roman time. It is very well preserved, and definitely worth a climb up to the hill.

When walking along the Castello of Susa you will see this beautiful Arc to. The Arc was built to honot the Roman Emperor Augustus. It is amazing to see such a structure that has been built more than 2000 years ago! We liked the Arc, the little park with the statue of Augustus and the view from here over the little historical town centre of Susa.

Come the back route through the back of the Castello, which gives you a view of both the spectacular remains of the aqueduct and the Arch, a tribute to Augusto from a local chief.

Susa has things that appeal to adults - Roman remains etc but little that keeps a 16 year old engaged!

We chose an excellent day to visit Susa because it was the XXXI Torneo Storico di Susa. There were people in costume from the 11th century wandering around, waiting for the competitions (archery, jousting, etc.) to begin in the Roman Arena nearby.

Never though to find so well preserved Roman ruins, the Arch being just one of many historical attractions in Susa
