Great independent arts centre!
Theatre, dance, cinema, gallery, music, art workshops. We're always surprised at some of the big names that turn up here. Friendly staff , nice cafe and bar too.
We went to one of the mini French season films and are planning on seeing Elvis in July!

Myself, my sister and our friends make a visit to the plough cafe once a week, normally for coffee and occasionally for lunch. We have small children and they are very happy kids and will make noise like children do and occasionally walk around the cafe under our supervision. The staff in there have never seemed to have a problem with this. However on todays visit the lady working in there decided to have a go at me for our children walking around even though I was following them closely behind. I found her very rude and unfriendly and it made me so uncomfortable to have my little boy in there. Me and my sister swiftly left the premises and will certainly never be going back in there. As far as I'm concerned they have lost our custom for good.

Had a lovely Christmas lunch this afternoon in the relaxing surroundings of The Plough Arts Centre. Two of us had the nut roast and one had turkey. The vegetables were lovely: four different ones and the potatoes were crisp. We also a delicious roulade for dessert.
The service was excellent: attentive without being overbearing.
The whole meal...with drinks and coffee cost us £20 including a tip. Brilliant value for money. If you missed it this year make sure you book next year!
Thanks to all the cafe staff.

I'm from Torrington, and have been going to the Plough since I was little nipper. When I'm back in Torrington to stay with family, I always catch a film at the Plough. It has stayed the same in some ways, and moved with the times with the excellent cafe it has now.

A nice, relaxing, comfortable atmosphere, great coffee and cakes, staff are welcoming and friendly, a good selection of meals from the menu and specials board, also licenced, well worth a visit to experience the various exhibitions of arts and crafts, or maybe a film or live show.

Food is fine, the venue has a wide variety of events and artists. Keep an eye open for the events as some sell out very quickly.

The cafe in the Arts Centre is a charming place to visit for a morning coffee after exploring the quaint town of Torringotn. Good service and very reasonable prices.

Went to see John Illsley (ex Dire Straits) and it was a first visit to the Plough, so we didn't know what to expect. What a fabulous venue! and what a contrast... 10 days ago we went to see the Rolling Stones in Paris, a new 30,000 seat venue in La Defence. That was a great gig... but for a venue.. The Plough Arts Centre beats it! Hands down - no question. Absolutely loved it. We live in Plymouth and this is really worth travelling up for. The programme of events that is on is fabulous... We'll be back!
