If you've been to Yellow Stone, you don't really have to visit. The geothermal features are like a hundredth of Yellow Stone...

But the forest is really nice and it's nice to walk around. Some good hotels are located inside the park.

The entry fee is about 20yuan and and extra 15 for the cart service which is nice because there is lots of walking. The "geysers" are artificially made and most of the pools have been lined with concrete to contain them but that is reasonable given the curiosity of the tourists that visit and can't resist touching scalding hot water. There are spas and hotels there with varied prices. Mostly it is best to walk through and see the pools and move on. There are places to buy souvenirs, toilets and drinks. It can be quite packed with people during holidays.

This is a scenic trial walk, get to see the natural hot springs and forest. One of my favourite tourist attraction in tingchong

Before you walk inside, there alot of aunti and granny tried to sell you eggs (¥5 for 4 eggs) because at the end of the trail walk. There is a spot where you use the natural hot steam to steam your eggs. If you going to support them rather buy from the old granny especially the one with grey hairs, because ¥5 might be nothing to us but it definately meant lot more for them.

Could have been a spectacular sight if left in its natural state but they have made concrete pools, chimneys for the steam and concrete streams. Even have a concrete steam pool for boiling eggs!

Spent half a day here walking around the park. Got minibus from town (Y15) and paid Y60 admission. Not much here really a few springs with basic info available but far to much concrete. It's pretty ugly if I'm honest.
Took the public bus (#2) back to town which cost Y5

We had a glorious time walking around extinct volcanoes through luscious forest terrain and steam filling the air! Completely surrounded by beauty. I was in complete awe of this place and the power of nature.

If you have not seen any geothermal scenic area or hot spring place, this is a good choice. In the park, you can take a look at various hot springs. But don't expect too much, as the whole park is not that big. Would recommend a hot spa after the trip to have a good relax.

We had the chance to visit this site in May, so less tourists were there. It was very clean, we had time to enjoy the geysers, the natural boiling water and the nice landscape. Public toilet near the big boiling pot were great compared to what you usually find in China (clean, handsoap and paper available).
Some explanations in English, and lots of efforts to ensure the quality of the experience.
Of course, this site has been modified to match the tourism demands, but it's still good and the ticket is not that expensive. We were told it may soon increase as long as a higher site ranking.

We went to try the hot spring just a 1.5 km left of the main entrance. A nice family run and inexpensive private hot spring for 139 Y. So we went into the park while we were there. It is well done with good information and an enjoyable walk but over priced as much of the Chinese attractions are.
