- Fiona B4 contributionsCider Tasting experienceWe attended a cider and cheese pairing event today that I booked for my husbands Birthday. It was so relaxing a lovely atmosphere as soon as we arrived . A fantastic set up with a brilliant selection of food , drinks showcasing the excellent ciders and other drinks for the drivers. Alistair was an excellent tour guide very witty and informative, he is an asset to this experience!! We loved this experience so much we came home with ciders and cheese to have at home. We will visit again to have a weekend in the area and spend more time at this excellent place to relax and spend a lovely time in and experience hopefully some live music. Well done Dunkertons!Thank you so much for a wonderful review. We will let Alistair know.Written August 31, 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited May 2023Written June 3, 2023
- Ouzoman2Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom49 contributionsGreat Traditional CiderThe Cider Barn is signposted from the main street in Pembridge. Follow your nose for about 3 miles and you'll get there. Good old fashioned, traditional wooden barn with some of the best ciders around on display. Ciders can be sampled from the enormous old oak barrels. You can buy cider on tap in glass or plastic containers. Also a plentiful display of bottled cider. Loads to stock up on. Good conversation with the lad in the barn, very pleasant and helpful. Payment by cash or card. Great tasting traditional cider! Will always call when in the area!Thank you for the review :-)Written August 31, 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited June 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten July 31, 2023

This is a great venue with good outside facilities. The food options need o be improved, although this apparently varies. They have a good range of ciders and some other options for beer lovers and non drinkers. They need to improve the ablutions to save a trip to the car park. Well stocked deli shop as well as a lovely clothing shop. The biggest drawback is the random fire pits that cover patrons with ash and choke them with unavoidable smoke, no matter what the temperature is.

Loved it! This was a real surprise - we weren't quite sure what to expect, but what we got was excellent food and service in a rustic setting. We went on a Sunday for lunch and found the food to be superb. I'm not really a cider drinker but found the Dunkertson's cider to be very palatable indeed and converted me. We liked everything about Dunkerton's and will return.

We went here on a voyage of discovery and were SOOO pleased that we did.The restaurant is housed in an old barn,is roomy and rustically and tastefully decorated. The food however was the star of the show.A 3 course(each one excellent) sunday lunch for £23 is TOO cheap!!!.I had pate/belly pork and doughnuts and my wife had smoked tomato soup, goat and a huge plate of chocolate something.I defy anybody to leave here feeling hungry or dissatisfied..
The service was excellent and the man(Paul?)who runs front of house is a star as are his army of princesses who assist.
This is a real find-trust your sat nav and then keep going a bit further!!

We came for the cider (see other reviews) and as it was for lunch that we stayed. There is little (or nothing) to prepare you for the unexpected delight of what happens next. A prepossessing door leads into a c14 (?) barn that has been brought into the c21. It is airy and well planned. The welcome was fulsome and felt sincere. Whilst we hadn't planned on lunch the menu looked so good we stayed. And that was the right decision. Great location, great food, reasonable price - what else is left ? Top place off the beaten track. Make a detour.

We had booked this a few days before. On arrival the staff advised us that it might be quiet as they had a wedding cancelled and there were no other bookings. We only ordered a main course but also opted for some bread rolls. Service was excellent throughout and quality and presentation of the meal also hard to fault. We will definitely return when next in the area.

Living not very far away, we had been meaning to come here for ages. Down tight country lanes we sped, narrowly being missed by gigantic tractors and trailers.and arrived at the shed. Work was in progress, with the apples being washed then processed. It was all done manually with rakes and forks and hose pipes.we went into a small grimy shed to buy some cider, and were astounded to hear that they export worldwide! I have to admit though, I do enjoy their cider!!

After visiting the amazing Waterbury Mill and gardens we stopped here to sample some of the local produce.
No tastings at present(this was the first Friday afternoon in July) but the cider purchased has hit the right spot!
Delightful place near Pembridge amongst the Herefordshire countryside.

Cracking cider. The chap who pours it is always on great form and mixes it for you. Go for Medium Dry although if you ask nicely they'll mix you a Medium which is brilliant. If you are buying bottled cider go for Browns.
Well worth the stop to fill up if you are in the area. This is a quality cider maker.

Hi there,
Do you allow Dogs on site? (1 black Labrador)
Thanks
peter d

There is a barn and a car park so I can't believe you can't take the dog on site. You will I am sure have to leave the dog at the barn door which technically would mean the dog is in the car park and you will be about 6 feet away tops inside the barn tasting the cider. The door is likely to be open and so the dog and you will be able to maintain line of sight throughout.
All of the above is based on the assumption you are tasting the cider rather than the dog. If this is not the case I may need to adjust my response. Enjoy its great.
