Amazing Ride and Views!
čvc 2018
This cable car to the top of Fuente De is amazing. It is fast and steep and the views are amazing! Once on top, you can ride back down, or hike back down. We did the longer hike and had an amazing day! Arrive early to avoid long lines to the top and to have plenty f time to walk down.

Seasonal Bargain: 17 Euros ea.

No waiting line in early June. We walked right on the cable car. Incredible vista's and picturesque views. Goats were roaming at the mountain top. Caution: If you go during peak season, you are going to have a 1-2 hour wait in line.

Cabin lift in Picos mountains
zář 2017 • Přátelé
This combined with the drive up the gorge from Picos is a remarkable experience. You are transported by cable car up to 5500 feet in 4 minutes. The views of the rock face and of the Picos mountains are spectacular. The charge for a senior was e15. There may be delays if the site is busy. The temperature at the bottom was c13, but at the top only c4, so wear warm clothes. There is a cafe on the top. Recommended. Not for the feint hearted or those who suffer from vertigo.

Not for vertigo sufferers - and don't go on a busy day
srp 2017 • Rodina
I admit it was probably our fault - but we turned up at 11am on an August day to find a half-hour queue to buy a ticket, who in turn told us it was a three and a quarter hour wait to get on the up cable car. So if you can - book ahead (and print out the ticket by the sounds of it).

Not a problem for us - we drove back down the hill to Potes for a nice extended lunch. Nice place Potes.

Once we'd got on the cable car it was a quick, exciting three or so minutes to the top. The view from the top is spectacular (on a clear day - which this was). A quick hike up to the local radio tower reveals an even more stunning vista. If you feel more energetic you can take some additional walks.

If you're into wildlife there's also some interesting goats, vultures, lizards and eagles about.

After an hour or so we though about returning - only to find there was a two hour queue to get the cable car back down. This was made more entertaining as you have your ticket stamped with a number which they call when they're ready. Unfortunately for us it's only announced in Spanish - but at least it kept our Spanish neighbours at the balcony bar entertained as overtime a number was shouted I had to enquire what it was.

The run back - was if anything - even more exciting.

So - in short - try and avoid the queues and you'll have a fun experience.

Also - lovely ice cream at the bottom.

There are to ways to reach the mountain above, by car cable or by a long way that climbing few kilometers from Fuente De.
I suggest you to enjoy this car cable and to climb up quickly and efficiency.

Stone age has returned
čvc 2017
In an age where I can enter the plane, the theatre, the train, any museum in the world with a barcode or QR code on my digital ticket, the man behind the counter of the ticket office insisted that I - after standing for 30 minutes in the waiting line- presented a PAPER print of my online ticket. He would not scan the barcode on my iPhone, and was deaf for my arguments that it is rather difficult to get access to a printer when you are not in a 5-star hotel.

I suggest that the management go even further back in time and ask for a carved out in stone ticket that is only valid with an orginal signature from Tutakhamun.

Only worth it on a clear day but Wow !the views

In June lift only opened at 10 am. First day of the heat wave with cloudless blue sky we arrived at 9.40 with a queue of 100 yards but once open got up within 45 minutes. Second day we went at 11.30 and queue was just as long. Expensive as all lifts are 17euro return, 11euro one way. First trip we walked up the mountain Hdos Rojes but would only recommend this for experienced walkers. The last 800 ft or so is very steep on zig zag path which is easy to lose at one point half way up and underfoot is loose and unstable. Only a 7 ft scramble to first summit and a similar descent and re ascent scramble to second summit but there is considerable exposure. Lesser mortals may be content with a trip to the Veronica hut. no food but cold drinks including coke 7 & beer for 3 euros. Second day we took lift up and walked down back to Fuente De, not easy for non regular hikers as it takes 5 hours. The shorter route direct down better for inexperienced walkers but boring zig zagging beneath the cable car.

Fantastic on a sunny clear day
kvě 2016 • Pár
Visited the mountains during a trip in April / May 2016.

Ample parking, and a short walk up to the Telerifico to the top.

We arrived on a very warm spring day with clear views expected, and the top didn't disappoint. We had a beer at the cafe at the top overlooking the fantastic views, and also had a picnic at the bottom before leaving.

It was quiet when we arrived, with no bus tours, so there was no wait to get to the top or to come back down again. Spent about an hour up the top of the lift, saw some large birds souring, snow and ice still on the main plateau, and had a beer on the veranda in the warm sunshine.

Highly recommended.

Fantastic on a clear day!

I used the Fuente De Telerifico twice in October 16 with my brother. 1st time we arrived about 10 am on a cloudy Sunday morning and had to wait about an hour.

We walked from the top on a long circular route back to the car park. We opted for the fairly (last few years) recent route that cuts out Espinama and the trek back up from there.? Our route was pretty much all down hill and went from summer alpine scenery to beautiful woodland at the bottom. I think it took us about 5 hours with a coffee stop at Refugio De Aliva.

The cost of the cable car is €11 one way or €17 return so it's expensive for a family and on that basis I would say don't bother going up if you can't see the top station as you wont see anything up there.
