Excellent micro brewery
úno 2018 • Přátelé
I had previously sampled the beers at the Catherine Wheel in Newbury and The Inn At Home Newbury. I could not resist a visit yesterday. The staff were very friendly and happy to chat. I got to sample some last lovely beers in particular the Blueberry Stout. There were some cans to purchase to take away for a reasonable price. A great little brewery with some interesting and different beers. Well worth a visit if in the area. Will definitely be back.

Cloudy beer
čvc 2017 • Jednotlivci
I now understand where the name comes from. Bought a takeaway 2 litres of Betrayal for £12.50 taste OK but very cloudy. In my view over rated and over priced, there are other small breweries in the area that sell better beer for a much more reasonable price. I am happy to pay for quality, but I expect my beer to be bright and clear.

Hi Michael Thanks so much for taking the time to review us, all feedback is great in whatever form and we take everything on board. With all of our “Growler Fills” these come straight from our key kegs. We do not fine our kegs (the process of adding isinglass to beer) which is the way in which most breweries will clear there beer, and this is for a number of reasons. Firstly it would mean that our beer on keg (as indeed with much cask) would no longer be vegetarian friendly, we also believe that in dropping your beer bright you lose a lot of the great taste from the hops that we have worked so hard to get in there. This does mean however that all our beer on keg is intentionally hazy (just the way we like it) and is not a flaw in the product. We just didn’t want you to feel that we had served you something that is not right. Please come back soon and sample your way through some of our other range, and thankyou again for your review Iain

Bought as a groupon deal for my partner & myself tour and taster!! Well what a surprise!!! Great welcome by Ian & Jody(?) both know what they are talking about, not really a tour more of a drink or 11 & information about each ale and the process- superb adult time for a couple of hours - great for the man who likes his ale, being the nominated driver 😀 I tried a sip or two but not really my kind of tipple, but great fun had by all who attended this event, well worth the few pound AND you get the opportunity to purchase and take home!!! Well done lads keep up the good work!!! One very tipsy partner home safe 😂

Excellent micro brewery
čvn 2016 • Jednotlivci
In a strange, business park setting, this wonderful micro brewery is a real little gem. With a shop onsite, you can enjoy a quick impromptu tour of the site whilst enjoying some of the samples. The brewer on the day was a friendly guy who was happy to talk about the beers and the styles of the current offering in lots of detail. A recommended little tour, fairly priced bottled ales, bring your designated driver!

Excellent little micro brewery

A fantastic little place, even if it is on an industrial estate. Went in to try some of their beer and Ian couldn't have been more welcoming, and gave me a taster of all their beers and even made me a pint of chilli chocolate stout. Took some beer home and it was lovely. So I've been back for more. If you like real ale then it's definitely worth popping in, or organising a tour.

Great experience for all beer drinkers

A big thanks to Mike and Ian for an excellent tour. It was interesting to hear how their unique approach based on American hops, dried yeast and water from the beautiful Thames valley has enabled them to brew a wide range of extraordinary beers. We were able to sample 9 excellent beers and 1 interesting one (“Peach of a Day”). BTW – If you are looking for a brewery visit focussed on drinking not walking then this is the tour for you. All the brewing equipment is within a few feet of the bar!

Great Craft Beer Brew
Living a stones throw away we discovered this place. As most Craft Beer tap rooms sits in a little sunny corner of a small industrial unit with pallets and kegs to sit on. Staff know their beers, as you would expect, and offer great advice and a taste before you buy. It's an easy place to sit and relax with friends but you'll need a designated driver and some of the brews clock in quite high! A fab place and saves a trip to Bermonsey to visit the big boys!

You really need a designated driver, the hospitality is amazing.

We were given a tutured tasting of 9 real ales during our two hour visit, by an amazing brewer/owner Mike Tempest and Sales Director Ian Clarke, who are driven to make and sell outstanding ales. Some beers were tasted in both cask conditioned and the newer Key Keg system to show that the newer keg system does not affect the taste and condition of the beer. The visit was a real insight into the strides in technology being made by small craft brewers with a vision to present a perfect ale to a drinker at all times. Well worth a visit to those interested in the techniques of craft brewing as well as those wanting a pleasant time sipping real ale.

Fantasic for all you ale drinkers

When you first arrive you are in the middle of an industrial estate, this is slightly of putting but don't be. Their unit is very small so don't expect a massive tour. Basically you go in the unit and you can see everything from the door. The two boys are very welcoming and tell you about how they started what they are doing now and the process of brewing. If I counted properly I think people got to taste around 8/9 ales and the this was anything between 14/ to 1/2pt each time. We had a big group I count 35/40, this can be a bit of a squeeze but it doesn't matter just go to enjoy the Ale. There is Ales to buy as well as merchandise but there is no big sell. I would recommend going on a nice day as you may have to stand outside if there is a big group and I can imagine that the unit is a bit cold otherwise. Its a very casual set up and you can return with the growler jars (2lts) for a refill. Look out for a Groupon voucher and its even better bargin. make sure you have someone willing to drive because you will over the limit.
