Would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Peterhead. Takes about 90 mins to 2 hours but make sure you take a jacket as the prison is really cold. Very informative and staff lovely and helpful. Would definitely visit again if I’m back up that way

I did a tour of this establishment and was much impressed. There was a lot of good information given and the tour guide was most helpful. Would recommend anyone to visit as was cheap and a worthwhile day out - good food around the area 2!

A new visitor attraction. The tour guides were very knowledgeable about it's history. Well worth the visit. The old prison is easy to find, overlooking Peterhead bay.

Paid a visit today, an enjoyable interesting experience. Warm welcome at reception, interesting commentary via the headset, freedom to tour at your own pace, and back track with the commentary if desired. Good access to various areas of interest. No access to upper floors, which I would have liked to see. Glad that the site has been saved and not flattened and redeveloped.

Came with two family members with limited mobility , mum needed a wheelchair and sister has a stick.
Staff were extremely helpful from the offset and Jenna at the gate organized a wheelchair for us .
Brenda was a friendly face at the audio guide distribution and carefully explained the workings of the guide to us and then
Lorraine took us round and put Ramps down for mum's wheelchair so access was enabled.
The tour itself was fantastic and a real eye-opener into this fascinating ex prison.
Having the audio guides meant we could take our time going round and really immerse ourselves into the experience.
Harrowing stories from ex officers brought the place to life and the various exhibits strategically placed around were constantly keeping us on our toes!
All in all a unique visitor attraction and a warm welcome from the very helpful and friendly staff.

Very well done attraction. Really atmospheric. Focus is not on the people who were incarcerated, but on the staff. The prison is the museum. My wife and I have been once but will certainly go again - the museum is a work in progress.

We visited Admiralty Gateway when we came across it on trip advisor. It's worth a visit. The tour was really informative with great visuals. Hearing all the hidden stories behind the bars was an eye opener. Enjoyed doing something a bit different and seeing first hand the conditions and lifestyle of a prisoner.

Fantastic experience. It is totally authentic, no sensationalism or 'dressing'. Loved the recorded guides by the warmers. Staff are an asset to the museum. Would recommend to anyone as a real piece of North East history. Want to know more now!
