- Ana VEugene, Oregon610 contributionsAmazing art collectionThis was a wonderful art collection to visit. I am so happy Nelie Jacquemart preserved this collection for everyone to enjoy. It is a beautiful house and a beautiful art collection. This is definitely a place to visit during your time in Paris if you enjoy art and architecture.Visited March 2023Written April 7, 2023
- Patrick PRoeland Park, Kansas195 contributionsFine art in a lovely buildingThis is an elegant mansion with a fine collection of art. The current exhibition of Giovanni Bellini's art was fascinating. He might not be one of the greatest artists of his time, but he played an important part in painting in Venice ca 1500. There is a very informative video.Visited April 2023Written May 6, 2023
- Hans Thomas HZeist, The Netherlands794 contributionsReally worthwhileWe selected this museum for its collection but also because we had high expectations re. the building. Both came out. The collection is heavily French oriented while you can sense mr. Jacquemod’s positive inclination to Italian art. The building offers you a sequence of rooms with painted or carved ceilings, an amazing staircase to the floor and in general a grandeur that doesn’t exist anymore (anyone can have his m/f/other feelings about that; for me it provides a background for understanding the art). Nice people at the reception and the shop.Visited May 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten May 12, 2023
- LMSP223 contributionswell worth a visitA wonderful building and personal collection, like the Frick and the Courtauld. Worth getting the audio guide to explain more of the background. A very interesting and well curated Bellini exhibition. Also a really good cafe - great food, service, setting eand value.Visited May 2023Written June 3, 2023
- Kristina KBled, Slovenia96 contributionsAmazing mansionA beautifuly furnished mansion with art works dating back to 1600-1700. Marble staircase and beatifully carved furniture and decorations. We spent about two hours there and I would definately return. They also host temporal collections and we saw Italian artist Belini. There is an adorable bistro/cafe at the end of the tour. The desserts they serve there are delicious.Visited June 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten June 25, 2023
- Caitlin Cannon Zaiken53 contributionsA great museum of a manageable sizeThis is just an exquisite collection showcasing some of the finest examples of French decor and Baroque art (Tiepolo, Nattier, etc.). And the building itself is an architectural marvel. The special exhibition (Giovanni Bellini) was incredible, too. I didn't get the audioguide so I'm not sure I maxed out my experience, but please believe me when I say that this is a beautiful museum with a first-rate art collection. Plus, it's a very manageable size (especially after visiting the Louvre, lol). Oh, and the restaurant looks incredibly popular. There was a very long line so we didn't get to try it, but it was beautifully decorated and must be very good.Visited May 2023Written June 29, 2023
- Philip CYork, Maine598 contributionsArt Lovers DreamNo, it's not the Louvre. It is the incredible curation of an art loving couples dream of creating a magnificent space to view classical paintings. We missed the Bellini exhibition by a day, a few of their pieces had gone off with the exhibition, and still were not disappointed as the permanent collection particularly the Italian Renaissance on the second floor are worth the visit. Go soon as they're about to close for renovations!Visited July 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten July 22, 2023
- Przemcio1Frederick, Maryland49 contributionsA must visit to a hidden gem!A hidden gem. I have been to Paris dozens of times but never heard of this small museum. Located not far from l'Arc de Triomphe on the Haussmann Avenue. It has a beautiful interior, with a very interesting fresco (mural) presenting a visit of Henri III to Venice on his way to take the throne of France. There are also special exhibitions. when we were there it was of paintings by Giovanni Bellini. Outstanding!! And plan for a lunch in the period decorated cafeteria. Excellent!Visited July 2023Traveled with familyWritten August 2, 2023
- Aisha OgailAbu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates19 contributionsfinest private collection of art works in ParisThe museum was the residence of Édouard André and Nélie Jacquemart to display the art they collected during their lives. Beautiful collection of art pieces and architecture. Typical atmosphere of a large nineteenth-century residence. And has a restaurant THE CAFÉ JACQUEMART-ANDRÉ which is located in the former residence dinning room that is full of day light and garden view.Visited August 2023Traveled soloWritten August 6, 2023

I cannot recommend this museum for any special exhibitions.
The space is too small and cramped to allow easy flow of people. The layout of the rooms is such that at one point you must pass through one room to access another room, then turn right around and pass through both rooms again to exit. This causes a bottleneck / traffic jam in an already-overcrowded space. Even though you must reserve for a specific hour, they allow too many people at one time which causes insufficient viewing space or ability to access the posted information. You are always pushing, and bumping into, and excusing yourself to other people; it prevents you from being able to concentrate and actually enjoy the exhibit.
The social distance recommended for Covid measures cannot be respected under these conditions, and even without those standards I could not enjoy an exhibition in this space.

Madame, Sir,
You're right, we havn't much space for our exhibitions but we're in a historical monument with severe constraints.
Moreover many people come at the end of the week in the afternoon. It creates many traffic while some other moments are very fluid.
Covid measures include a "pass sanitaire" which is checked and we maintened requirement to wear a mask.
We're sorry to hear about your poor experience and hope to welcome you another time in other circumstances.
Best regards

Have been to the this Museum before and it is a beautiful building and would normally give it 5 stars. But the reason I gave it 3 stars is that we went this time was for the Turner retrospective currently on there. The presentation was very disappointing. The 60 watercolours were in the same frames and had the same mounts, they looked like a job lot from Ikea!
As usual the cafe provided a great lunch in a beautiful setting.

Dear Madam,
thank you for your comment. I'm really sorry you were disappointed however I can assure you that the whole retrospective came from the Tate with their own frames and mounts.. nothing from Ikea in this presentation !
Happy you had a great time at the café.
We hope to see you again.

This former residence of the couple Jacquemart-André showcases some splendid works of art in a sumptuous decor. The building in itself is gorgeous, I especially liked the winter garden and the beautiful staircase.
I was even more impressed by the temporary exhibition of the Alana collection, a private collection of Italian renaissance art. I was blown away by the beautiful colors and details of the artworks.
Too bad there were some renovation works going on in the garden, but you can't fault them for taking good care of this lovely heritage site.
Highly recommended!

A hidden gem on Boulevard Hausmann, the street facade gives only a hint of what awaits as you enter the grand carriage drive at the rear. I love smaller museums like this, which you can tour in their entirety without feeling that you have been beaten about the head with information by the time you are finished! The artworks are stellar, having been preserved as they were collected; so often these houses have been stripped of their original collections and then restocked with inferior works.
Oh, and we had a wonderful lunch in the tea room, or rather sitting outside on the terrace. Delightful.

If you have a few hours to spare in Paris then Musée Jacquemart-André is an excellent choice whilst it could be a rainy day activity, there is also a nice inner garden where you can enjoy the sun and the tranquility of a century passed. It's a private museum with an excellent art collection which will take you through how they lived during 19th century and their collections. There is normally also an external exhibition included in the entry. There is also a nice café and restaurant.

Very interesting but out of the way place. Not too crowed except for the special exhibit. The regular paintings and furnishings are wonderful. The mural over the stairway in particular. The special exhibit on Fuseli was very interesting even though we knew nothing about him before our visit.

Amazing collection of wealthy businesses man and art savvy wife . Combined with a wonderful restaurant that I suggest is great paring. Building alone is worth your time. Built as a 19th Century Mansion it has survived now as a state museum.Has Louvre tired you out then visit this one. Food is served in remarkable room complete with tapestries which sets tone for your meal. Don’t miss it! And Serving Staff is first class!

This was the only museum I went to while in Paris that wasn't included in the Museum Pass, but that's not the reason I've given it a 1 rating. The staff weren't particularly welcoming. It's basically a wealthy person's townhouse maintained as it was. The art on display is mainly rococo though there are a few rooms with old masters. It's quite large so could take a while to get around, but it wouldn't be top of my list if you've got limited time.

Dear Sir,
Thank you for your comment. However, could you tell me the date of your visit because the Jacquemart-André museum has been closed since August 1, 2023 for one year until September 2024, for restoration work. Sincerely.

My husband and I plan to visit on Sunday, July 22, around noon. Will there be a long line? We would rather get tickets when we arrive. Does the museum offer a skip the line option for seniors?
Thank you very much.

Dear Madam,
The exhibition will end on July the 22th (a Monday), so there will be a few latecomers but it should be ok.
However, you just have to book your tickets online on our website and there will be no queue. You will access directly to the museum.
Sincerely yours

Is the museum now accessible for handicapped persons using wheelchairs? Is there a ramp? An elevator? Is there an elevator to all floors and exhibits? Can we use a power (electric) wheelchair, or only a manual chair? Do you have manual chairs that a person in a power chair can use while in the museum?

Hello,
to go to the Musée Jacquemart-André, you can take the subway and get off at Miromesnil or St Philippe du Roule.
The address is 158 boulevard Haussmann and Camondo is an other museum...

Hello Kok Hoong,
Musée Jacquemart-André is indeed a privalty-operated museum by Culturespaces like Villa Ephrussi de Rotschild or Arenes de Nimes but also Musée Maillol and soon Atelier des Lumières in Paris.
Sorry dear dcrnj for the lack of a senior discount but as you say, it worth it !
Happy to see you soon there.
