In our opinion, one just can't explore the quartier (neighborhood) des Batignolles without visiting the square des Batignolles, which is a smallish park designed and fully inaugurated during the so-called Second Empire (the reign of Louis-Napoleon or Napoleon III, the last 'Emperor of the French'), in the 1860s (please bear in mind that prior to 1860, the entire village/community/hamlet of Batignolles wasn't a part of the City of Paris, and neither was Montmartre and many other neighborhoods of what constitutes now the modern Paris).
Sure enough, the park lacks in size, fame, magnitude and points of interest the scale of the nearby parc Monceau, but it is still worth visiting, if not as a dedicated tour but definitely as a part of acquainting yourself with this wonderful neighborhood.
The oasis-like square des Batignolles is ideal for relaxation and leisurely walk with its little lakes, quirky bridges and even a merry-go-round. For the lovers of flora, there are numerous beautiful and exotic plants and trees. Right next to the merry-go-round, there is a small kiosk bearing the proud name of Chalet Batignolles that has been serving crêpes and ice cream since 1978.
Ducks, geese, and water hens add to the overall tranquility of the place.
Note one of the park promenades bearing the name of allée Barbara, the famous French singer (1930-1997), who was born at the nearby 6, rue Brochant.

Square des Batignolles is a nice little park running parallel to the railway tracks in the northwest of Paris, in the neighbourhood Batignolles.

The park was built in 1862, when the suburbs (including Batignolles), were included in Paris city limits by Haussmann and was one of the 24 parks created in that time by Jean-Charles Alphand. It has a little pond in the centre, with many birds, primarily ducks. A little cascading stress runs through the park, emptying into the pond. All around the pond, you have paths. It is very well shaded and has a nice breeze. It is a great place to catch a break, eat, relax, or exercise. They have a children's play area, a little carrousel, a small eatery selling crêpes, waffles and candy, and an area with a few table tennis tables that are free to use. There is also a little glass structure that is meant for exhibitions. Outside the park, there is a little structure made for pigeons. There are also 2 large pétanque pits outside the park. The park has toilets.

Closest metro is Brochant on Line 13.

From all Parisian parks, this one was my favourite - rocks, little lakes, water springs, ducks, bridges. Really, very well designed park. Glad, we accidentally crossed it on the way to our hotel.

This is one of the most delightful little parks in Paris. Located in the 17th Arrondissement, the street leading up to the Square is both lively and charming beyond the imagination. Cafes, bakeries, wine shops and such an assortment of things to buy line both sides of this lovely area. The park within the square has a tiny stream, a single orangerie, several children's play areas, bocce ball courts, ping pong tables, walking paths, a duck pond, benches for resting, and even a little Merry-go-round and crepe stand. It is filled with flowers and trees and since I was there all April I was able to witness the spring blossom time. Because my destination to my family each day was on the other side of the park, I was able to walk through it daily. I cannot think of a more charming place to experience French life.

The Square de Batignolles has a feel of a small town or village square with its church, boulangerie, cafés, bistros & restaurants with open terraces in front of them. In summer there are often events held around the open pavements e.g. antique fairs. Once you have had your fill of retail and food a short stroll behind the church brings you to the local parc de Batignolles filled with flowers, greenery, pond and stream and a selection of ducks, geese and couple of black swans. A place to wander around, feed the ducks, etc or just sit. Some do show more energy going for the jog for fitness and children can keep active in the play area towards the back of the park.
Beyond the end of the park if you want to pass an afternoon and early summer evening having a game of pétanque there are about 4 games areas.Or you could just wander around to another café bar to sit outside with a glass of wine or un café.

Such a pretty park in a very charming residential neighborhood, quite a distance from the bustle of the city and the tourist crowds. Very well-maintained.

The Square des Batignolles is really a lovely local park. We had a picnic lunch on a bench here surrounded by locals.
However woe betide you if you sit on the grass. We joined other who were sitting on a grassy area when we were chased off by the park keeper. seemingly grass is for looking at but not for sitting on in Paris.
There is a pond with ducks and huge fish.

A small park behind the church at Batignoles It has some of the same sort of concrete work as the Buttes Chaumont with an artificial waterfall and lake. It is a calm space as there is only one small area for ball games and just 2 enclosed childrens play areas. Walking on the grass is not permitted but there is plenty of seating. There are a number of species of water fowl on the lake and some enormous carp in it. There are attached areas for boules.

My twin brother Stephen and I were heading to Le Cabonan for some beers on a beautiful spring afternoon and passed through Square Des Batignolles ,a park I always enjoyed visiting on previous holidays to Paris ,always thought this park was beautiful but on my latest visit it looks even more beautiful .
Quite a large park area ,it covers roughly about four acres ,lots of interesting features in the park ,water features including a mini waterfall ,fountains, glasshouses ,carousel and a cafe ,well laid out garden area's,it's a very historic park being laid out in 1879,through the park is a walkway called Allee Barbara named in honour of singer Monique Andree Serf ( 1930-1997 ) who mentioned Square Des Batignolles in some of her famous songs which is a path that brings you through the park letting you take in the great views ,in the park are all manner of wildlife such as ducks and giant carp ,it's just a great park to check out if you're in the vibrant Quartier Des Batignolles .

We spent a nice morning strolling and shopping in Batignolles, which has two nice parks and a good variety of high-end specialty clothing and other shops.
