My daughter and I spent five days in Paris during a hot and muggy spell of weather. We ventured over to the Keller Pool late afternoon on one particularly hot day. It was fantastic! Busy, but clean and cool and the perfect antidote to the hot weather. Everyone must wear a bathing cap, which can be purchased from a vending machine at the entrance. It's a 50 metre pool, and most of the lanes are reserved for lengths, but the pool accommodated everyone of all swim levels. Best of all, it was open-air. We would definitely return.

OVERVIEW - Keller is perfectly fine for indoor lap swimming. It has 6 1/2 (lane 6 is a combined lane so extra wide for slow swimmers) lanes and a 10m x 20m warm down/ kids pool. It has lights and overhead natural lighting. The lanes themselves are wide enough for middle passing. The water is warm but not too warm for extended swimming. Lanes are marked with standard "slow/medium/fast" movable signs. Expect 1 or 2 lanes to be reserved for club practice and/or lessons in the early evening (4-6pm).
USER TIPS - The complex only costs e3.50 for adults. Enter using the ticket and bar scanner. There are lockers throughout (not just where you enter the changing area) and require a 1 Euro coin for a deposit (they have change at the entrance). The changing area has 50 common European-style curtained rooms. They do require tight fitting swimsuits. No "board shorts" or cutoffs allowed. [Note: hotels also post the same requirement in Paris. This is the only city where I've seen this rule] Swim caps are also mandatory. Showers are located after the maze of changing rooms. And finally, yes, the lanes can get crowded. 4-5 per lane was the average during club practice times. But this is the norm at any public facility with a limited number of lanes. Overall it's fine and I am glad I discounted the numerous negative reviews.

Lovely pool for lapswimmers, even with a number of people in the lanes it is quite manageable (the lanes are wide and people self-sort) .. Not difficult to get to from St. Germain des Pre area … and I don’t get the comments about it being an ‘old’ pool or complaints about being required to wear swim cap! Also, the ozone (as opposed to chlorinated) water was terrific. If you’re a daily lap swimmer (I am), this works quite nicely!

Piscines de Paris - there are 38 public pools (piscines) in Paris and swimming in them is a unique experience for travelers to be able to mingle with local Parisiens. Lanes are shared and very busy, so one says a lot of "après vous" and "Allez y". Some of them are decouverte which means the roof opens when the weather is nice. My favorites are Piscine Keller and Piscine Blomet in the 15th as well as Suzanne Berlioux in Les Halle's, 3stories underground. These are all 50 meter long courses but there are good pools in almost every arrondissement. Bathing caps are required for everyone, no surfing shorts are allowed, but you can buy suits and caps from vending machines at very reasonable prices. I swim almost every day when I am here - you should try it!

We had not been told that you need a swimming cap. So we paid 4.80€, got undressed, went into the swimming hall, were told that we were not allowed to swim without a cap, dressed again and left.
The piscine itself is quite old and the showers are open to the views of all, so you better leave your swimsuit on. I can not recommend this place.

Swam here over the noon hour on a weekday- it is an old pool but it is 50 meters so the lanes are long- only 4 lanes which had 12-20 people per lane- seemed clean and pretty well-run. You pay your 3 euros and take another 1 euro coin and use a little room to change, then lock up the cabinet using the euro and take the key- upstairs are showers and pool entrance- be sure to have an actual swim suit and bathing cap- also no fins "palmes" allowed- nice to have some exercise besides walking- and you get to see real people- highly recommend the pools in Paris
