If you are a devotee of St Thérèse or want to experience her story (Story of A Soul) of her childhood memories, a visit to Les Buissonnets will bring them to life. I’ve been here several times and each time I savor the life and teachings of Thérèse. It helps to read her manuscript before going for a greater appreciation. Nearby visit the Carmel on rue du Carmel and see her relics, Chapel where she served and place where she spent her last 9 years until age 24. The Basilica of St Thérèse and St Pierre Cathedral are also amazing places to experience the saints lives including hers and her father St Louis as well as her sisters

I went to Lisieux and in the tourist office they gave me great information, they gave me a map and told me follow the blue line all over town to see the major places in St. Therese of Lisieux's life, I went to the Basilica, the Carmel, the Buissonets (family house where she grew up), St. Pierre cathedral and downtown.
You do NOT need a cab or bus I walked everywhere since everything is close by, if you are old and in bad shape then you might. There is no admission fee to the Buissonets and the volunteers are phenomenal, super nice and helpful, they have an audio and they will play it in your language, well worth to see everything there. After you finish go to downtown and have something nice to eat and try the Normandy apple cider.

I always enjoy visiting the former homes of historical figures, writers, saints, etc. and this one was no exception. It gives one a "feel" for her family life. See a replica of Our Lady of the Smile, the statue which reportedly smiled on 10-year-old Thérèse on May 13, 1883; she attributed a miraculous healing from illness to the prayers offered before this image of the Virgin which copies Bouchardon's Madonna. A large collection of locks of Thérèse's hair is preserved and hanging over her bed. The house and gardens are lovely and a worthwhile pause before or after visiting the grand basilica.

Just being there was a blessing. The tour is interesting and the nuns who are in the Saint's house seem to be praying for you as you enter the rooms. Just beautiful.

The gardens are well maintained and the rooms are 'preserved' in time. There is an audio commentary in various languages as one walks around the former home of St Therese.

This is the house where St Therese grew up and has been kept as it was during her time there. The sisters who were looking after it were very helpful and played a recorded commentary in English for us. There are only three rooms on show which made for a quick visit. I'm not sure exactly what I expected but I was a little disappointed at the brevity of the visit. There is no charge for the visit though a donation is welcome. For devotees of St Therese this would be an interesting place to see.

Interesting and beautiful house! When you walk in, there is the recorded narration of the life of St. Therese and her family - the Martins, it pictures an interesting mix of a simple and elegant life, made grand by a prayerful life and deep faith in God.

My wife is an admirer of Therese, and we went to Lisieux from Paris just to see a little more of Therese's history. Les Buissonnets was the most special place we visited. It's a small house, 15 minutes on foot from the center, but you can almost feel her presence there. My wife was so emotional she even cried...

There you can see Therese's childhood toys, her clothes, books, her bed, and a wonderful and peaceful garden with a statue of Therese with her father.

If you're in Lisieux, don't miss it!

Les Buissonnets is the home of St. Therese of Lisieux. There is a small climb up to where the gate is located but well paved. It can only take in a limited number at a time as the house is not overly large. It has a beautiful garden, toilet facilities and a small gift shop in the end. Must see when traveling in Lisieux.
