Historic building on the cobble-stone market place next to the cathedral with a nice terrace. Wine bar with an excellent selection from the region, also offer wine tastings. The terrace is a lovely and popular spot to sit in the sun and watch the market in the morning or just people passing by in the afternoon and evening. Terrace seating is self-service at the bar.

Sat outside in the sunshine and enjoyed some white wine and pretzels. Situated on the beautiful town square this is a good place to sit and watch the buskers, trade from the market stalls and the passers by. Wine tasting is also an option here. Staff were really friendly too, highly recommended.

I don't like German wine and especially not white wine. However, this place taught me that there is actually exquisite good white wine. On top of that, it's even German one.

You have the option to either taste some in the wine shop or then sit outside and enjoy a glass or two while looking at the Cathedral.

Either way, it's a great place to just relax and enjoy a glass of good wine.

I can't thank Eva enough for the excellent wine tasting experience she provided for me on a very rainy day in Freiburg. As a fellow wine student she was very knowledgeable and guided me through the different Pinot Noirs (Spatburgunders) from the local area. She went to a lot of trouble to carefully pick wines for me to try and it was lovely to spend time chatting to her - her English is excellent, far better than my German! You should not miss stopping at this place for a glass of wine when in Freiburg.

One of the most beautiful experiences of our entire Germany trip. We went around dusk. Oh my God! What an experience! Sitting in the courtyard, sipping the wine, listening to live music, on our right was one of the oldest Gothic cathedrals - such surreal magnificent experience!

We have tried tasting throughout the Mosel, the Alsace in France and now here and this was the friendliest reception and most informative tasting we received. After tasting several wines, we settled on glasses of wine for the patio then took additional bottles with us. Can't say enough for the friendly welcome, the explanations in English and the willingness to talk with us Americans!

Located in the Munsterplatz it is an ideal location to watch the passing crowds whether with a glass of Glühwein or one of the many fine Baden wines they have in stock.

Most of the seating is outside although we did note that it had one corner inside where one could sit.
It is a little away from the Christmas market crowds but in the square where there are a number of cafes/restaurants.

It doesn't appear to serve food, at least we didn't see any, but it does specialise in wine. The selection of wine by the glass or bottle is excellent & would satisfy most wine drinkers.

It also sells wine to take away in a range of prices.

Not only a great variety of wines but also good pricing and a great view to the Cathedral' s square with all the beautifull old buildings arround. Especially during sunny days you can enjoy every moment...

Perfect spot for wine tasting in the heart of the old city in Freiburg. Great view of the Freiburger Munster, and the server had excellent recommendations for the best local wines. A great place to sip wine, people watch, and relax.

A wine is an unique drink and here you can taste fabulous wines. Wines here served are belonging to the best of the region. The place to drink your glass gives you a magnificent view on the church. Great and enjoyable!
