This is a very nice stroll at the banks of river Rhine. Nice view of the old town and the Rhine Tower (Rheinturm). I did the walk around 10:00 in the morning, a cold but sunny day in December. There were very people. Perfect time to take pictures!

Really enjoyed this... More than I thought I would. It was wonderful to emerge from the city streets to the river and its openness. A lovely promenade walk that is well worth following to the harbour and unusual buildings past the tower.

this is a nice distraction on a sunny day to walk the full length between the bridges that mark its limits. I expected some type of flea market but there were just bars and restaurants. the view from these bars is great as you see the river and its passing traffic along with the bridges and the tower. the prices in the bar reflect the location but still not too expensive. might be a different place when it rains but the bars seemed well covered.

Even in March, on a cold but sunny day, it was great to go (again!) for a walk along the river Rhine.
There are plenty of nice views, good for picture taking, ships/boat tours, cafés to sit down and do some people watching, ....
A chill break in busy DUS.

We had a few hours to kill before our flight home today and discovered the wonderful Stradtstrand on the banks of the rhrine in Düsseldorf. Great location, great loungers, lots of decent wine to choose, and wonderful staff. A perfect way to relax in the sun with chilled music and leave COVID behind. Perfect.

Took a pleasant walk along the promenade after visiting the Rheinturm and heading back towards the Alstadt! Wasn’t particularly busy or exciting but interesting to get up close with the river and seeing some of the large barges travelling up and down. Lots of space and would be perfect on a hot summer’s day.

No doubt that Rheinuferpromenade will be chosen as number one attraction of Dusseldorf, Germany by TA members. Dusseldorf is a business hub and I think you might be a rush business traveler like me who has not enough time to see around. well, after a busy day, just go Rheinuferpromenade. I went there in last summer.
This is a long pathway at the side of Rhine, and many many open sky bar with their lovely menu. Take a glass of local beer and relax in a chair, enjoy the sunset.
Trust me, you will be refresh soon.

this pathway takes you all along the rhine river from the old town to the new harbour area. there are parts where you can sit on the grass and enjoy the sunshine and passing barges on the river. there are also a number of restaurants close to the old city, which are very touristy and over priced. you can walk all the way to the metro harbour which is the new happening place in dusseldorf. it has a selection of pubs and restaurants that are filled with mainly locals. this is a lovely place to go on a sunny day as it is easy to follow and there are a number of informaiton places to explain the sites and show where you are.

One of our grand- grand- fathers came in the 1870ies from Wilhelmshaven to Bremen and to Duesseldorf. Since that time the German part of our international family has grown up in Duesseldorf.
We like to invite our international parts of our family to visit us in Duesseldorf. We like to show them our Duesseldorf and Noth Rhine Westfalia.
The promenade at the river Rhine is a MUST SEE; we like to take with our e-bikes and we cycle along the river Rhine.
All our visitors love and enjoy this phantastic sight to the river Rhine. We recommend you to take with a good digital camera and digital video camera to make photos and video films! You'll enjoy to remember your walk, drive at the Rhine promenade!
The Rhine promenade is good in all seasons of the year, and even on rainy or windy days!

The Rheinuferpromenade is a place to walk along and watch the barges laden with their wares anytime of the year whether it is on a crisp day in mid-winter or in the heat of the summer.
Sheep can be seen grazing on the opposite side of the Rhine. This particular visit was during New Years Eve and the whole promenade was alive with live concerts, food and drink stalls and fireworks, truely spectacular.

We are staying at the Sheraton Airport Hotel for one full day waiting for connecting flights. We would like to see the old town and the Rhine river. Can you suggest how we should get from the Hotel to the Old Town and Promenade and what to do when we get there. Thanks

Hi,
you have 2 choices:
1. Via Airport sky train to Airport railway Station. Then with a S-Train to Düsseldorf main Station. From there easily with the Metro to Heinrich-Heine-Allee (Altstadt) go upstairs and walk to the river rhine Promenade. Takes 50 minutes from Airport (Train and walk).
2. Alternatively by Taxi, per 25 Euros and much faster (15 minutes)

Hola Pablo
Actually this is an outdoor activity/attraction, a promenade area, un paseo, so no opening/closing hours. you may expect every bar or coffee shop to be open on sunday morning too, especially now, in springtime
Enjoy it!
