6th century fountain featuring 13 masked spouts representing mythical fauns and satyrs. According to local legend, if you drink from the flowing water, you'll return to the city one day. Very pleasant, large fountain in an open space surrounded by countless beautiful buildings and other interesting sights. My wife and I enjoyed the stroll around.

Also in Ancona you can rediscover the Italian Renaissance, this is a beautiful fountain with 13 spouts and 13 masks is a beautiful example of Renaissance art, between the piazza del plebiscito and this air Ancona presents itself to tourists at its best showing the beauty of the lounges Renaissance of Italian historical centers centri. Definitely a nice area to visit, perhaps taking advantage of a beautiful day and eating or having a coffee in some outdoor restaurant

This sight is relatively small and there's not a real lot to see when you get there but it is a fascinating fountain and one which is pretty unique in terms of how it flows. The thirteen masked faces spouting water all in a line is a wonderful thing to see and supposedly represents thirteen people who were beheaded. The sixteenth century fountain is a must see in Ancona and with it being centrally located just off Piazza Roma is easily found. There are plenty of shops and restaurants in the immediate vicinity meaning this can be viewed along with spending an hour or two in the area.

Right in the centre of town and very attractive. Obviously a key meeting place and we enjoyed sitting at a nearby bard and watching the activity around this fountain.
Interesting history n ell located in what is now a pedestrianised shopping zone.

The fountain we see today was built in the XVI century, but there has been a fountain in this spot since ancient Greek times.
The fountain has 13 masks of Satyrs and Fauns and it is still in use (though water was turned off when we visited) and according to Ancona's traditions if you wish to come back to the city you must drink from it.

This is a lovely 16th century fountain of thirteen panels, 12 bronze masks and a central stone. It was folklore that whoever wanted to return to the city had to drive water from the fountain.

It was strange to come across this on my walks. It's quirky and rather intriguing. Well preserved and in good working order, I found myself slightly hypnotised by it for some time. Personally, I loved it, but I could imagine many could walk passed and not think twice about it.

Two fountains in a not very large square. Nothing special. But a must see. The other one gives you a nice chill sensation in hot summer day by spreading a nice mist of water.
