After walking 15 minutes down hill we found out the whole beach was full. So we had to walk back up again… 😟 The only option was to lie on the rocks like the lizards. Never had this experience in Italy in whole my life, terrible!

We went there on a Sunday in July - along with half of Ventimiglia. Nevertheless, we are thoroughly enjoyed our time there. It is the only sandy beach (that we saw) on the coast which was a very nice surprise since we came from Nice where it's all pebbles. The water was warm, clean, with almost no waves - ideal for swimming and for children. It is quite small and was filled with locals since it was a Sunday, so if you want to grab a place for an umbrella, come early. There is also a bar selling drinks and showers.
The only thing is that it's a bit of a walk from the town and the path to it is quite difficult to find.
Definitely worth going if you're in Ventimiglia, even if only for a day trip.

You can only reach it on foot but unlike most of the other local beaches this one is sandy and shelves gently into the sea. Nice little bar/restaurant and you can still hire beds & umbrellas. Very popular with surfers.

This beach is much worse than the pictures lead you to believe... its really hot with no respite from the sun and the wicked undertow can really be dangerous to small children and adults alike... the smell of weed in the air is not from the bamboo canes... will not miss this place at all! The hike to get to the beach is the best part while the limited services once you arrive are not up to standard for such a place... highly overrated and not recommended for young families!

This is the only sand beach in Ventimiglia, and due to rising waters the beach is getting smaller and smaller every year. It is mostly rocks now, but if you want a comfortable chair in sand, you can rent them for a fee. The walk down is really an amazing one. It is approximately 10-15 mins (depending on your speed). This is not an easy walk, as at times the stairs are steep and wet...but bring your camera, it is truly breath taking.
Just in case you need something, you have access to bathrooms (no charge) and can purchase drinks or snacks for decent prices.
This place is usually filled with locals......so it's a great way to get a feel for the people.

If you'd like to avoid the rocks of the French and Italian blue coast, this is the beach to go to. You have to take a hike (entrance point is next to the archaeological museum), but it's so worth it to be on a beach with sand. There's a little beach bar set up also so you can enjoy some drinks. Be sure to bring an umbrella though, the sun gets hot!

Lovely little beach and a nice path to get down to it! A must see in Ventimiglia! Also to our surprise there was a little bar where you can buy drinks from.

This is a nice beach outside Vintimiglia. Its approximately 30 minutes to walk, but the walk its part of the experience.

You can rent umbrella and two sunbeds for 25 euro (15 half Day). But you can also find yourself a spot at this public beach. Sand, a nice view of the ocean, horizon and the coast. Quite popular beach, so not a place to be alone.

I highly recommend! Easily combined with a stroll in the old town. Charming!

A little hard to get to! At the farthest end of what you would consider Ventimiglia, just west of the new marina. There is a tortuous path more or less along the waterfront, but the most direct route is down the hill from the museum of the high town (there is actually a city bus stop in front of the museum). The steep little path is a couple hundred meters long and takes you down to a sandy “almost beach”. Almost all of it is covered in shallow water all the time. But the sandy bottom is a delight, compared to Ventimiglia’s beaches in town - which are all rocky. The shallows make for some inviting little waves that attract a few surfers - even on the coldest days. The water is also clear here and much cleaner than Ventimiglia’s beaches farther east (they are often polluted by Roya river runoff). Note: There is really only the one access route here; it looks like you could continue on toward Latte and get out of (or into) this area - but thanks to the train tracks, you can’t. Parking is limited. No accommodations or bathroom facilities. Watch your step!

The best part of this attraction is actually the hike to get there. There are two options, one that is mostly stairs paralleling one that follows the terrain. It is not strenuous. The views are wonderful all along the way. Giant aloe plants, wild flowers, and many other varieties of plant life can be seen. Do not forget to check the view up the cliff as well as the great view of the sea, which is so alluring that you may miss looking up at the old city and the beautiful homes overlooking the sea. The beach itself is nothing so special. A surfer was waiting for a wave and there was no one else in the water. Some folks were sunning themselves. There are no facilities, and no lifeguard was there. I would go again, mostly for the hike.
