Central Station represents a bridge towards the future. Impressive skyscrapers and new age buildings stretch the skyline with the majestic Unicredit Tower cutting through. Surrounding it are large towers that define Piazza Gae Aulenti, where the fountain and the Monumento Trombe leave one breathless. A famous building of the district is the Vertical Forest, where the innovative materials and trees planted on the terraces are a unique mix of nature and man-made construction. In the district, there is the Monumental Cemetery, known for its antique tombs with sculptures portraying angels of commemorative scenes many will find touching.

The place itself is beautiful. There is a nice view on the central station building, you can also go to the metro there. The place is also very crowded, with annoying people trying to sell you basically anything (chargers, phone cases etc.), its full of smell and in the evening of groups of youngsters not really behaving. Wouldnt recommend visiting if its not on your way.

The Piazza is just outside Milan central train station with a big apple statue. From here you can get to the underground station, catch a bus or go to many nearby hotels.

It is a busy area. A mixture of tourists and commuters.

Its importance is highlighted by the police who patrol the area at all times. At least it will give you some reassurance as at night it will have many homeless people and some of them are there during the day as well.

When arriving in Milan by train, avoid turning left when you leave central station as you might stumble upon the Milano Bar....Duca-Milano, Piazza Duca. Hard to avoid if on foot as the staff block your way. We only noticed this after we had sat down to a very expensive and chaotic lunch. The risotto was nice but a plate of rice pudding for 25 quid is a bit much. All prices over west end prices and this place just exploits the local ation by the station. Don't be unlucky like us...avoid.

Yes, the Piazza is near the central train station of Milano - and usually it's been that the area around train stations, due to the transient nature of the people, has been putting it mildly, seedy. However, Here the Piazza is big, wide, and open. And therefore, comparatively very safe.

And Stazione Centrale di Milano is a wonder to behold in and of itself. Look up the history of this grand edifice and be amazed and full of wonderment for the architecture, the symbolism, and grandeur of the building. It follows the epitome of what constitutes a Monument.

in the center of the Piazza is the Reintegrated Apple and on the right side is the Pirelli Tower near the 5-staExcelsior Hotel and the Glam Hotel on the far left side of the Piazza.

Duca d'Aosta is also the Ferro Stazione subway stop of the Green Line and Yellow Lines, the latter of which takes you directly to Piazza del Republica, Montenapoleone, the Duomo, and Galleria Vittorio Emanuelle II.

The square in front of the station is always very lively and there are several very beautiful buildings around - the main station, Hotel Galia, the Pirelli skyscraper. Although there are vagrants and homeless people, it does look safe.

It is near the stazione centrale. You can take pictures from the stazione and other buildings nearby. There is a lot of security near the stazione but always keep your stuff nearby.
