The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.

Fascinating place!!! By accident on Monday I looked for museum which was open and I chose this one and have to admit it surprised me how beautiful place, building, story and art it contained. Small but with precious atmosphere. I appreciated detailed descriptions and with didactic part I felt like little child discovering world again! Deserves better marketing that people do no go there by accident but choose it because they already know about this beauty.

Just as we stroll on the winter streets of Milan, we saw that beautiful building and we spend some time to observe it! It was closed, we didn't enter, but it seemed so interesting.

Near to the Lanza station and castle.
This will fill 1 hour of time maximum.
It is basically 10 or so small rooms with a random collection
of artifacts from different cultures / time periods.
The exhibits were ok, but there is not really enough to see
certainly not for the price.
However, it is one of the very few museums open on a Monday.

Based on the description and the reviews, I thought this would be a fun place to go. I think some folks might like it but here is a description so you can be informed about the content.

It is 8 Euros and about ten small rooms. The main display is perhaps 7 rooms on the topic of fakes and forgeries in art. There is a lot of didactic material on how to distinguish fake patina, artificial aging, etc. ( a ton of didactic material actually) Every now and then, there are little tests you can take. I was disappointed because I thought the topic was art forgeries and there would be more about specific forgeries and how they were detected. This is not about art as in paintings and sculpture, it is focused on antiques.

Then, unexpectedly there is a room full of buddhas, which was kind of interesting and then one small room that had little bits of miscellaneous information in Leonardo.

For me, this museum was entirely missable, but I suspect there are folks who would enjoy it. The hands on might appeal to kids as another reviewer talked about, but there are only four or five points that are hands on.

We stumbled on this beauty and spent a couple of hours learning about authenticity in arts and antiques. The layout is very intimate and welcoming however it might not be for everyone as it is a teaching museum. You can interact with the collection and are encouraged to examine the exhibits some of which are quite unique and highlight the difference between fakes, copies and reproductions. and the real thing. What a beautiful building too and admission was very reasonable. If you just want to look at things then avoid this one but if prepared to exercise the brain cells you will enjoy it. Great for kids too.

It's a small museum but full of very interesting artworks. Leonardo, Buddha and African culture. They have also a lab with students. Cool !! It's located in the city center close to the Castel. We got 40% discount on ticket entrance with a city pass called Visitalia Tourist Card. Definitely a nice experience..strongly reccomended!!! We met also the owner Peter Matthaes that gave us interesting tips.

A great experience. Offers the visitor the opportunity to understand how to recognise fake from original antiques using simple techniques. Certainly worth a visit. One of the few museums open on a Monday.

Really dissapointing museum. There was supposed to be a room with Leonardo da Vinci but it was unaccessable for some reason, and there was no discount because of it. The other rooms were just filled with potsherds and few buddistic statues. Only half of the items had english descriptions. The museum was also really small, not worth 8 euros at all.
