The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.

- Demy DelfiCorfu Town, Greece86 contributionsA nice churchYou can enter the church for free and it is a nice church to visit. However, Leonardo da Vinci's Last Supper is not inside this church. It is located in another building right next to it and you have to book your tickets many months before arrival, otherwise you will not find any at the ticket office.Visited May 2022Traveled soloWritten March 25, 2023
- Jonathan ITurku, Finland92 contributionsGreat experienceNeed to be booked in advance. Only 35 persons are allowed in every 15 minutes. We used Tiqets and it worked very well. All the different companies and guides made it a bit hard to locate the guide outside the church. Our guide Lorenzo was very good and did all the talking outside so that we could enjoy the Last Supper mural by Da Vinci in peace. The whole tour was about 1 hour.Visited May 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten May 16, 2023

The Basilica is beautiful as well, but of course you come to see Da Vinci’s “the last supper!” The silence in the room makes it even more empowering. It is amazing to see the artwork up close and in person. You are not allowed to videotape, but you can take pictures. Definitely get tickets in advance. I lucked out that there was one available ticket left on a tour that included the Duomo and the theater and this. It’s the only reason I got to see. And I am so grateful that I was able to see it so last minute! Definitely plan ahead!Visited May 2023Traveled soloWritten October 8, 2023
- Richard MHampstead Norreys, United Kingdom871 contributionsOne of the wonders of the worldThe masin reason to come is the fact that here is where the LAst Supper by da Vinci resides. Once we got into the church and through the many airlocks were we let loose in the refectory. The last supper was as stunning as I had hoped it would be. I was phsyically and emontionally moved by the size and glory of the image. It is one of the wonders of the art world and it is obvious why when you see it. Just get a ticket and go.Visited May 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten October 22, 2023

Around 3 weeks before I went online to check availability and there was none, so first tip is to plan well in advance to avoid over paying and disappointment. We had to bite the bullet and book a tour with an outside company which wasn't cheap, but do we regret it, certainly not. The whole setup is very informative and well organised, letting a small amount of people in at a time allowing you to see and read the information. I do recommend going with a tour guide to get the most out of it and getting the history and relevance of this important piece. - TommoMelbourne, Australia50,436 contributionsCompleted 1490, refectory contains "Last Supper"paintingWe visited Santa Maria delle Grazie whilst on our guided tour of the Last Supper. Its also known as "Holy Mary of Grace" and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The convent contains the mural of The Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci, which is in the refectory. This is a famous and worthwhile painting tio view. Tickets can be difficult to obtain. It is a blend of Gothic and Renaissance styles and was built on the site where a chapel with a fresco of the Madonna, known as Madonna delle Grazie, once stood. The construction of the church was started in 1466 and completed in 1490.Visited November 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten February 21, 2024

We took a great tour to see I’ll Cenacolo and the last supper. It was an amazing day to see and walk through the. Hutch and to finally be able to see in person “The Last Supper”. The whole wall was adorned with the painting and you can see the history in pictures and videos of the painting

We saw The Last Supper as part of a walking tour we booked through Milan-museum.com. This painting was spectacular, a great historical masterpiece that has somehow survived after being “restored” by other artists over the centuries, bombed in WWII, “edited” by the monks when they decided to make the door to the room a little bigger a century or two ago (poor Jesus lost his feet), but was re-restored to its current condition, which is very close to the original, back around 1999 by a very dedicated lady. Our guide, Sylvia, was extremely knowledgeable of Leonardo da Vinci, the painting itself and the history of the church it is housed in. Thank you Sylvia for a very informative tour!! For me it was also special as years ago I had visited the room in Jerusalem where the last supper was actually held, so this also added to the whole experience!!

The main attraction is the Last Supper. However, the Church itself is worth a visit too. We booked our tickets about a week in advance. I would check the website regularly for about a month until a day became available. That is how the tour groups trap you. Most tourists were accompanied by a guide, so we had to listen to the guides for our entire 15 minutes there. I don’t understand the maximum capacity, because there had to be at least 30 people there.
This is a site worth seeing. But the ticket process and time allotment is annoying.

We essentially only went to see the Last Supper painting and it was not a disappointment. Unlike say the Mona Lisa - this painting is magnificent in its size (not to disrespect the Mona Lisa). It is an entire wall. Unfortunately, we do not speak enough Italian to have understood the tour (next time will make sure to take the English tour) but no tour was needed to take in the pure beauty of this work. Looking forward to returning.

Gothic Dominican church and monastery built in Romanesque style in the 15th century. The most famous here is the mural The Last Supper by Leonardo Davinci, which is in one of the annexes and you have to get tickets in advance. The church itself is free and worth a visit.

Beautiful church with a highlight of having two stunning paintings. Although the key one is Last supper, the other one opposite to it having crucified Jesus is equally grand. They will not allow taking water inside, but provides a free locker to hold it.
It is a good place to stop by. Book in advance. One thing to be aware if you are travelling by metro is, pick pocketers are so visible - and if you are not on high alert like a boxer in a boxer ring - you will surely be pickpocketed.

A must see for anyone visiting Milan. Yes, DaVinci's "Last Supper" is impressive, but I found that Giovanni Donato's 1495 fresco of the Crucifixion on the opposite wall is even more amazing. I am surprised that this is not mentioned in any of the websites.

Very unlikely to be able to get tickets on the day. Often there are scalpers selling over inflated tickets to people who are desperate, better off pre booking. Book direct so you don’t get ripped off

Ticket was part of a (very good) walking tour bought through Get Your Guide. Tour included Milan cathedral and Sforza Castle, ending with Last Supper. We could not go into the church as there was a service taking place but it did not seem to require a separate ticket.

Do you buy separate tickets to the last supper and the church or is it one ticket for both. Also how long is the tour? Thanks

The viewing of The Last Supper is 15 minutes with a guide. We were lucky to get 6:15 p.m. tickets for the day of our visit but this is unusual as bookings go quickly. Go first thing in morning 8 or 8:30.
