A very impressive church on Placa de Republica. It towers over the streets and the facade is just beautiful.
Inside too I loved the iconography with he gold gilt inlaid altar and the arched clockwork of the ceiling. Not as intricate as some other churches in Braga but impressive nonetheless.
A wonderfully tranquil and serene place ideal for contemplation.

This “Basilica” has been built in the 16th century, although only got completed in the 20th century.
His construction began in the year 1703, and was blessed on October 27 from the year 1717, although the towers and statues to be placed in the respective niches on the façade still need to be built.
These works were to be carried out in the 20th century, with the west tower having been completed in the year 1964,
On March 15 of the year 1975, the Holy See granted the Church of the Congregates the title of Basilica Minor. Not bad at all to have a short visit during your walk in the historical center.

This is one of the churches that I liked the most. Baroque architecture very well preserved. Totally recommended.

Stunning and well-located church that possibly holds the most architecturally satisfying interior of any temple in the city (which, given the odds, is more than a minor victory).

The façade church is quite imposing on the garden’s lateral in front of the Arcade. Going inside one is probably expecting more, mainly because the temple is granted with the basilica title. Although interesting and harmonious it doesn’t deserve a detour; go in if you are walking by. Enjoy!

Basilica dos Congregados is another church in Braga. The thing with these buildings is that they are really worth stopping for and looking at, for at last a few minutes. The architecture is usually great and the interior is quite often amazing. We came across this 18th century church while wandering the streets of Braga. The outside is quite good and really lovely. However the interior is not what you might expect, as it is mostly rather plain, with a few exceptions. It deserves a bit of a look in, if you are that way inclined, and a few minutes will do just fine.

The church was built in the 18th century and was designed by Andre Soares.

Admission is free and the interior is quite attractive. But with so many beautiful churches in Portugal, this one is rather average by comparison.

The interiors are not very impressive if you're looking into art but it's very beautiful if your looking to see something high and leaving with the impression of seeing something big.
