The design and the colours of this building are simply amazing. The work that was put into it to match the tiles, doors, windows and railings is just perfect. There isn't much inside, but you must walk by to see the braga design work.

Palácio do Raio, who is also referred as “Casa do Mexicano”, is located in the Rua do Raio, no. 400, in the parish of São José de São Lázaro. It is one of the most notable buildings of civil architecture in the city, in the Baroque style of João. as a whole, giving priority to the most unprotected and promoting quality of life, assuming the commitment to support the most disadvantaged in the practice of the 14 Works of Mercy.

Palacio do Raio is an 18th century Baroque style building. It's a lovely residence, fit for anyone who could afford it! It is an example of the opulent past. The most striking feature is the facade which is covered in blue azulejo tiles. Absolutely fantastic! The balcony, too, is a great feature. Inside there is a beautiful staircase and the granite floors are striking. There are a few artworks and other objects inside, but no furniture or other furnishings, which is a pity. The whole building is built from fine-grained granite and you can't help admiring the fine work that has gone into all of this. However the outside of the building is probably worth admiring much more than the interior. Worth visiting if you are nearby.

With a beautiful and richly decorated facade is a must visit of Braga. Soon will open the Museum of the Misericórdia de Braga, and finally we can visit the interior of this spectacular baroque/rocaille palace.

It is a baroque building very close to the city centre, with a beautiful facade. Not much more to be said about it though

It's a beautiful edifice and pictures don't do it justice. Besides it's pretty difficult to catch a moment without a car or pedestrian spoiling the view.

An interesting and attractive building. Whilst we had not originally expected to enjoy the interior exhibitions these did help put some of the history of the city into perspective. Well labelled - with English captions.

Palacio do Raio has a beautiful outside, but nothing special inside and it costs 2 Euros. Not recommend for paying for the visit

Otherwise known as The House of the Mexican, built in 1754-55 is stunningly beautiful in its purple glory.
It is cited that this main door and balcony are the finest examples of BRAGA civil architecture.
Easily accessible on a through traffic side street!

This is a majestic building in the centre of Braga. The interior is just as impressive as the outside.
