Definitely worth a stop to go in and walk around the church grounds to see it. It was very pretty and peaceful.

Marstal church was built in 1738.
The 7 church ships suspended in the church tell how close the town was related to the sea.
The beautiful altarpiece was painted by Jens Erik Carl Rasmussen in 1881 and depicts Jesus silencing the storm on Lake Genesis.
The church is absolutely worth a visit

Attended the opening night of the 22nd annual Accordion Festival in Marstal at the Marstal Kirke. It was a great evening of music( singing/accordion/ violin playing) in a superb Kirke resplendent with model ships hanging overhead.

The sound of the bells during the day call you to visit this church just in the center of Marstal. An attraction is also the many model ships in the room. And look at the alter a painting of a real local artist with local models.
