About
Vitensenteret is a science center where visitors are encouraged to learn through interactive exhibitions. The center is open Monday to Sunday, and here you will find exciting activities, experiments and interactive installations for the whole family. During weekends and school holidays we have a varied program, and we also organize summer schools, science clubs, birthday parties and other events. While visiting us you can also experience Norway’s first and only 3D planetarium and 360 cinema. Join us for a spectacular journey through space or watch one of our fulldome films. Screenings are usually during the weekend or on special requests. Want to extend the fun? We also have a science store with exciting experiments and toys. Trondheim Science Store is open all days of the week, and you can drop by without a ticket to the center.

I went here on a late Monday afternoon with my boyfriend. Wish we had gone earlier as there's so much to do if you're into puzzles and problem solving. My partner's an engineer and so he loved seeing how things work; I just liked being able to run around and touch things. The entrance is pretty cheap compared to other attractions in Norway. Lots of fun for a good price!

This interactive science museum is not very big, but there is still enough to do for at least 3 hours. You can touch everything and try out different experiments, games, puzzles and funny gadgetry. Some components are evidently designed for children, but others clearly for adults, as they are to complicated for children. It results in a very varied museum that will entertain all ages. If you're (a little bit) into science, this is an activity I would definitely recommend.

We visited with a 5yr old and a 9 yr old; both had heaps of fun - as did parents and grandmother. Really great for families. However, do not spend time or money on the planetarium (very small).

Funny for both children and adults. Much to learn! My four year old child liked it as much as i did! Learning by doing. We had a great time.

The stately old Bank of Norway building was converted about 15 years ago to a science centre, very much in line with Trondheim's self-image as the technology capital of Norway and seat of the NTNU. The centre is hands-on and mainly for children. However, anyone who has done school physics and chemistry will not experience many new things here. It was also somewhat worn down. And, as always in Norway, highly expensive. I do NOT recommend this.

The science museum is a fun museum with virtually every display offering some type of hands-on activity. It is geared toward elementary school aged children but is still fun for everyone.

A little «weary» and rather small compared to similar establishments in for instance Oslo and Sandnes. A bit surprising that the “capital of technology” hasn’t invested more in a science museum. Having said that, there’s plenty to do for the kids, and many interesting facts and phenomenons spread all over the place. Hardly any mere exhibits. A tiny planetarium where you sit on hard benches along the wall could have been made more attractive.
