Best personalised bike guide ride in Italy. I’ve ridden with Stex in the past pre-Covid. The group rides consists of guests from hotels in the Bormio area. There is a fixed daily itinerary climbing the major climbs in the regio from Stelvio, Gavia and Mortirolo. It was momentarily stopped presumably due to Covid restrictions but has now restarted. Being there solo this time, I felt it safer that I had company and Giacomo or Jack as he’s known was superb. From finding me a replacement front wheel after I broke a spoke on the first day, to patiently guiding me up the major cols. He kindly served as my photography model as well as its another of my passion on long rides. His knowledge of the climbs was encyclopaedic, telling me what to expect in the next km etc. And his relationship with the local restaurant and shop owners made each cycle rest stop a pleasure Do look up Stelvio Experience for personalised guide rides as well as scheduled group rides. It makes the grand mountain experience just that bit nicer and safer. To be fair I’ve ridden 6 times in Bormio.

We rented bikes from an experienced, very friendly, well informed shop keeper. The bikes were tip top, and we could choose between different types. I chose an electric one to be able to follow my friend to the top of the mountains...
The keeper adjusted the seats and pedals according to our wishes and gave us good advises on our trips.
When we came back he had fantastic cakes and coffee ready. All together a very good experience!

Where do I start? Stelvio Experience is awesome! The pre ride briefing prior to each ride is outstanding and really well done, we were well prepared for each ride. The guides are amazing with a special shout out to Laurie for guiding us to successfully complete the Stelvio Loop and to Aad for looking after our tired legs the next day and taking us to the seafood restaurant for lunch ( it’s excellent, don’t miss it) after the Lake ride. The van support for the Stelvio Loop was great as it meant we didn’t have to carry jackets and extra clothes. Following the ride many fabulous photos are available through an easy to assess website. This is an awesome way to do some amazing cycling around Bormio. Staying at Hotel Funivia is also recommended as it is upstairs from the Stelvio Experience and you can store your bike in their excellent bike room.

I recently went to Bormio to go on ride the famous Mortirolo and Pass De Stelvio.
I booked the trip with Stelvio Experience and and they were fantastic.
The route, the support and the experience was all above expectation.
You will not be making a mistake by using this great team of experienced cyclist.
See you again next year guys

We spent the week at the Hotel Funivia while my husband cycled with the Stelvio Experience. This experience was beyond anything we can describe. So well organized with challenging rides and amazing bike guides. Safety was a huge factor and they always knew where every cyclist was at all times. The guides were so professional with amazing cycling skills. They were friendly and always making sure you were ok and also enjoying yourself. Thanks Jackamo, George, Art/Ed Stefano Antonio and the rest of the guides Special thanks to Nigi for allowing me to ride along in the support Van. It was an experience both my husband and I could share because of this. We will be back for sure and telling all of our Canadian 🇨🇦friends how amazing it was Thank you so much

Giacomo and his crew are probably the best bike guides I've ever come across. It starts with a morning briefing describing the route, elevation etc. Often times there is a van support carrying your backpack for extra clothing (which you will definitely need after climbing those mountains) food and water. The rides will naturally split up according to rider ability and the guides will also split up accordingly and so you can ride as fast or as slow as you want. Mountain descents are controlled for safety and routes are planned for to avoid road closures/traffic and for best sight seeing. All guides are super friendly and truly professional. Stex is an extremely well run machine, kudos!

Had 7 days of cycling through the mountains, and we could not have asked for better guides. Jack and his crew are just excellent.
Just bring strong fitness or an ebike, as this is serious climbing.
They will take care of all your needs. They leave from the bike cafe at Hotel Funivia, after a pre-ride briefing to overview the day. The longer rides have van support, and the shorter ones often have bag transfer service. All routes involve a serious climb.
Super happy!!

I had the most fantastic week of cycling at the beginning of August 2018 with Stelvio Experience. The week was very professionally organised and probably my best cycling holiday experience to date. All the staff were extremely friendly and went beyond expectation to make me feel welcome and part of their cycling family. The 6-day tour is challenging but has 2 "easier" days which allows the legs to recover a bit and keep the motivation high for the tough days. The long days are fully supported with 4 on-bike guides, large vehicle and plenty of food and water. Based in Bormio, the tour is perfectly situated to experience epic climbs such as the Stelvio Pass, Mortirolo, Gavia Pass, Benina Pass etc. Riders meet each morning at the Stelvio Bicycle Experience Cafe (basement of Hotel Funivia) for a briefing where they run through the route for the day, including invaluable advice to first time cyclists' to the region, and the rules for ensuring everyone has a safe experience. All photos taken on the day is loaded every night and available for download free of charge. An added benefit is meeting the odd professional cyclist that joins the group rides. At the end of the day we would all meet at the cafe for some drinks, snacks and laughs about the day. I will definitely be returning next year and would recommend it to anyone new to the region or simply wanting a challenging cycling week with an awesome social aspect too.

Just returned from a week staying in the Funivia Hotel, Bormio riding each day some of the hardest and most spectacular rides imaginable. The Stelvio Experience team were fantastic guiding us along the way and helping with advise, transporting luggage and food and helping as we pushed ourselves to the limit.
I would thoroughly recommend them along with the brilliant Hotel Funivia, where the rooms were lovely, food fabulous, staff great, cycle storage very safe and kit washing a lovely bonus. Can't wait to go back!

A fantastic group of guides and a very well organised front office. So easy to be part of the group rides. The encouragement & support was great. The rides were tough, however that was well known before I signed up.
Highly recommended for anyone wanting to tackle some of the iconic Italian climbs
