While researching my ancestors, I discovered that Tomasso I Marquis di Saluzzo, who built the original part of this castle, was my 23 Great Grandfather. Unfortunately, it was closed when I got there - only open Sunday afternoons while renovating.

We recently visited the castle in Saluzzo. The children (14,10,8) had a wonderful time. We really enjoyed the wolf exhibition and the medieval section of the castle and the English information was so informative. The prison was interesting however we didn't understand a lot as there was no English translation in this section. Would recommend a Visit here if in Saluzzo.

Don't loose ti visit the Old Castle offline Saluzzo. Get these TripAdvisor:

1. Discovery the history of its architecture and walk where the prisoners' guards worked until the Castiglia was a prison;
2. Visit the museum to discover the ancien prisons;
3. Visit the museum dedicated to the cavaliers and get the whole history of the marquise;
4. If you like, there's a museum of contemporary art.

Everything is new and multimedial, wonderful!

Nice museum where you can learn about the Castello when It was a prison. It's really attractive because you can visit the cellars . On this part of the museum, you have a little bit translation but then everything is in italian, it's a Pity.
Also, the museum shows "l'époque des chevaliers".
