Visited in the summer.) This is one of my favourite places in the area as you enter with an empty stomach and leave with a full one for free. Everyone tries to get you to taste there products. The smells and colours are amazing. You can also find out a lot about the culture and products with the information you gain from speaking to the local farmers in this market.

As you stroll the couple of aisles in this outdoor, but covered market you will be inundated with sounds, colors, aromas and textures, even taste if you are sampling. The gusto with which these people embrace their lives is manifest and you will want buy a piece of it. Alas, you'll have some flavor in your bag, but the magic stays in the market.Carpe Diem my friend

At the bottom end of the main street, almost as far as the roundabout, you'll find this market. Loads of stalls, and plenty of tastings to be had. It's mostly local produce, and a few souvenirs, and well worth a look, especially if you're self-catering or planning a picnic.

i have been here in old town vieste for more than two weeks now and we have 3 days left. my landlord told me about the farmer's market when we just got here, but for some reason i never stopped in to check (farmer's market is my thing .. i go in every single town i visit around the world) we drive by the spot every time we go to super market. today (sunday) all the markets closed early, so it was out of no choice i said "let us check out the farmer's stand as i really need a couple of more things for cooking dinner! and to my delight, they were still open at 6:30 pm! and wow, so many goodies - from veggies to cheese, from olives locale to oil locale! and all the spices! place was clean well organized! and fresh produce look much fresher than the super market variety. pity i have only two meals left to cook, so i could not buy much. but next year, i will for sure come here for most of my cooking needs. ps, people are super nice there, and encouraged me to try all sorts of things. only thing i need to find out when i come back next year is when they are actually open.

Very nice place to visit and stroll around. Fruits where delicious but pricey. Cheese and meat was way too expensive. We didn’t see any locals buying there.

A kind lady wanted me to choose the chillies I liked so she could string them up for me. I got a ready made chilly garland because she put the same smile and effort into each one. Even had a crash course on how to use their dried mix herbs to make a mouth watering pasta dish!!

Walked through one night after pizza. I wished I could buy all the pasta. Very good prices for pasta, spices and fruit.
