The problem is that even on a perfect winter day this promenade is not “special”.
The sandy beach stretches in both directions but as the calm wavelets floated in one saw how featureless the beachside is. And while the promenade itself is wide it lacks interest and is hard underfoot when compared, for example, with the terrific boardwalk at Deauville.
In a way, even this Very Good rating is very generous

On a Sunday the promenade is full of families walking together, dog walkers and you can walk a long way towards Ouistreham. There are bars and Restaurants open by The Grand Hotel and further down towards the Spa there is the excellent restaurant The Beau Site. The beach is clean and sandy, dogs are allowed on certain sections.

This is normally a great place to walk and look at the beautiful beach. This year however, you had to avoid the dog poo! Perhaps the Town Council doesn’t provide bins, or maybe people don’t pick up after their dogs here, but it is such a shame to see.

This a vast and amazing beach - it's big anyway but so wide when the tide goes out. Always spotlessly clean.

The promenade extends for four kilometres with clear views of the wide sandy beach, the ocean and of the peninsula to the North. The pavement is wide. It is a great place for a stroll and for watching the world go by as people of all ages relax and appreciate their surroundings.

Very long Promenade along the sea front great for dog walking and generally enjoying the views and sea-air. A few places to stop nearer the Town.

A lovely pedestrian walkway overlooking the beach and the sea. A few beautiful old houses, unfortunately mostly modern small scale appartement buildings.
We loved the five kiosks, each representing a continent, and love written in many languages.
Unfortunately it started to pour on our way back!

Beautiful for a lazy dog walk on a lovely sunny day.
Surprisingly few bars, sadly.
Lots going on down on the beach.

Cabourg is a lovely place for a visit, we enjoyed wandering. The promenade is well looked after and even. Ate on the front, such a nice setting. The market was good (on a Wednesday) with some real comedians ... It really is old fashioned charm. The floral displays are fabulous, how they kept them looking so good in the heatwave ... We got the Bus along the Coast, cheap and reliable. Wine with lunch was v nice!

Normalement c'est interdit.
Mais aux heures extrêmes de la journée, des gens roulent à bicyclette.
Promenade agréable.

Can you hire sun loungers or parasol around here or beaches nearby?

We tend to visit in late May and again in September, so have not seen evidence of this but historical photographs of the area do show the traditional blue and white windbreaks and little tents, so I assume it is possible. I know that you can on Deauville beach.
