A piece of history
čvc 2020 • Rodina
Took the children to see this monument (age range 12 to 21). We were all really impressed and the setting with the views was a real bonus. Good information board. Able to park ok but limited parking, although probably never that busy. Able to walk all around the monument and get some good photos.

True or false??
říj 2019
First getting to this site is like driving on farm lanes, not really suited for 2 cars. The story behind this is not really known if it is true or false. However, there is a hiking trail that goes through the fields just behind the Stone.

Worth the drive

This is an interesting feature reminiscent of others in Brittany. A bit of a winding road to get there but well worth it.

Interesting historical site
zář 2019
A bit off the beaten track Arthur's stone (which has not relation to anyone called Arthur especially not to King Arthur). However a very interesting Neolithic burial site and not just a mound of earth. Fortunately workmen were replacing the fence around the site and the forman was an expert who gave us a very detailed history of the stones. Great views - worth a visit is you are passing close by

English Heritage looks after a 5,000 year old burial chamber.
srp 2019
We did try to walk here from Breeze Barns, but it was the 25% gradients that beat us after ten minutes not the two miles. Ah well back to car and up and down a narrow road with passing spaces and only one small sign pointing out the even narrower road to Arthur`s Stone. How did Iron Age man move these heavy stones, by what equipment 5,000 years ago? Lovely views from the site and good description boards provided by English Heritage. The actual site, I believe, has not been excavated, so was this a burial site or did it have another purpose?. Cleverer people than I can guess at the answer. Well worth a visit to soak up the atmosphere and it is free.

A good example of a dolmen. A beautiful and historic place to visit. Atmospheric neolithic structure with spectacular views of the surrounding countryside.Fantastic valley views, lovely little hidden prehistoric gem. Easy to access for even a brief visit, definitely worth visiting if in the area.

Magical,peaceful place with fabulous views
kvě 2019 • Rodina
We travelled along a small country lane, not really knowing if we were going on the right track, but when we came to the opening and saw the old mound with the stones it was worth it.
You feel as if you are in the middle of nowhere, with History all around and the views are beautiful. Just drink in the peace and the History of this lovely place. You need a clear Day to get the views,we were very lucky.

An incredibly interesting and beautiful place

What an incredibly interesting place which is situated in a beautiful part of the world. To think how they manoeuvred the huge stones there over 5,000 years ago. Amazing!

You can feel the history! The second you see it, you feel as if Arthur himself is with you, I love this place. The beauty is magnificent - loved sitting down with my Ham and Jam (try it its lovely) sandwich and watching the world go by.
