About
Xin chào! I’m Lua, a business owner of Lua's Kitchen. I've hosted 2000+ guests since 2017. I have visited 16 countries (still counting), love to practice yoga, meditation and latin dance for a healthy mind and body. I grew up in the Northern countryside where everything was self-sufficient. I learned a lot about how to grow food, prepare and cook from scratch with all natural ingredients from the farm and garden (My father was also a chef). I've lived in the South for 26 years. So I specialize in authentic and healthy home-style dishes from North to South Vietnam. - All guests prepare, cook from scratch and eat together the same menu at my home-setting kitchen (no separate station for each guest). - Let me know if you have any allergies or diet/menu requirement. - Each session takes 2.5-3 hrs - Time might be flexible at per your convenience. - Pickup service are NOT included. - Market visit could be arranged as per your request.

Lua's cooking class was one of the highlights of our trip to Ho Chi Minh City. It is offered in her home and was a small group class, both of which we loved. Before attending, I let her know I was lactose intolerant. She substituted coconut milk, which was perfect. Lua taught us how to make Green Mango Salad (with pork or prawns), Vietnamese Sizzling Pancakes (with pork, prawns, mushrooms and more), and Banana Pudding. These were all delicious. Afterwards, Lua sent us the recipes to make at home.

My friend and I partook in a vegan cooking class with Lua, just herself and the two of us. We felt very lucky to have such a personal and exclusive class with such a caring, creative, and talented chef! She allowed us to do much of the prep and cooking (much more active participation than we had experienced at other cooking classes). It was a lovely evening with conversation and amazing, fresh food I had not even tried at Vietnamese restaurants! She also supplied us with detailed recipe books and cooking chopsticks to take home with us. This class was really wonderful and totally worth the visit. I would definitely recommend visiting Lua’s Kitchen- she is spectacular!

We had a great time at Lua’s with Lúa and Emily. It’s a small, social cooking class that allows you to get to know the cooking and the people that you are with. Lia and Emily are welcoming and knowledgeable and friendly. I would recommend it to anyone

I contacted Lua the night before and was able to take a vegetarian cooking class with another couple on my last day in Ho Chi Minh City. It was a wonderful class and Lua is a great instructor. We prepped the dishes and cooked parts of our meal with Lua showing us what to do. It was a great and educational 3 hours and one of the best cooking classes I have ever taken. Lua discussed traditional recipes, showed and had us taste different herbs common to Vietnamese cooking and after we had finished all the prep and cooking we had a wonderful lunch. I highly recommend Lua’s Kitchen

I'm fond of cooking exotic food and wherever I go ,I sign in for a cooking lesson .I wanted to experience a Vietnamese cuisine and Lua was recommended to me by another Vietnamese guide couple ,Hieu and Spring .
I made my way to her place earlier than expected in order to have a few words with her introducing myself to her and discussing about other topics than cooking itself ,thus learning more about the Vietnamese actually and their amazing country .
We cooked together three local dishes and she gave all the small but precious tips to make a tasty three course lunch ,which I will cook for my clients next week once back home.It was the first time in my life that I had used sticks to cook such healthy food .
I highly recommend Lua for your next trip cooking experience in Saigon .People like her with such real commitment should deserve admiration and encouragement....
Keep up Lua !Thanks heaps for your hearty welcome.
Will keep in touch and recommend you to whoever of my friends or relatives visiting Saigon , whether they love cooking or not ...some like eating only ...

My boyfriend and I had a great cooking class with amazing food a few days ago at Lua's place. Lua is super nice, explained a lot around Vietnamese food and culture and made us feel at home at her lovely apartment. We even got some secret tips and the recipes per mail afterwards so we can cook the meals at home.
All in all highly recommendable! Thanks Lua!

I loved my cooking class with Lua. She was generous enough to hold it even though I was the only participant, as all the food was vegan.
We cooked some of the most famous Vietnamese dishes (summer rolls, pho and banana/coconut soup) and they were all delicious. She explained each step carefully, and I feel really confident to be able to make them on my own now...especially as she sent me the recipes after :)
Lua was a lovely host, and I was really interested to hear about all her previous and future travels. I would 100% recommend this class for a more personal experience.

I was lucky enough to actually stay at Lua's place for 2 weeks with her homestay. During that time I tried her cooking class which was amazing, but also got to eat many of the meals she made outside of the class. She was a kind and patient teacher, and taught me a lot about Vietnamese food. I loved learning about the authentic recipes and methods of cooking. This is a must-do class in Ho Chi Minh. You won't regret going!!

My partner and I recently spent the evening learning to cook with Lua. The food was delicious and her teaching brilliant. Would certainly recommend.
