Overall it was worth having a wander around. The park itself is quiet and they have a big swing installation where you can just hang out. Quite a nice place

I was quite surprised to find a giant Christmas tree still standing when I saw this square on 13 March. When is Christmas season finished here?

We were disappointed when trying to visit Revolution Square, as the statue of Lenin and the "380 year clock monument" were inaccessible behind a perimeter fence. We are not sure why, although there were improvements being done to the sidewalks on nearby Mira Avenue. We had to take a photo of the Lenin statue from behind the fence. This statue shows Lenin seemingly trying to keep warm with left hand thrust in his pocket, and right hand on his coat lapels. The base of the statue has the name Lenin and Krasnoyarsk just below. The date of installation was 1970, which is also shown on the statue.

The Park was named Revolution Square in 1921, and major enhancements were done to celebrate the 100th birth date of Lenin in 1970. These enhancements included the 380 anniversary clock monument. and upgrade of the gardens. Other monuments in the square include the model locomotive monument of Russian Railways to the west of the park, and in front of the Railway station building, the hourglass clock monument and a fountain. The Central park area has a few monuments and is a pleasant place for a stroll.

Revolution square is the most central square of Krasnoyarsk with monument of Lenin in its center. During soviet time demonstrations of May 1 and November 7 always culminated in this square. Central park of culture and rest is situated in the border of this square.
