I visited the Captain's Cabin when I spent some time in Ullapool in June 2015. It is a really nice, cosy gift shop with many amenities and gifts. Recommended.

Upstairs there is a wonderful assortment of china, cookware and clothing and a very helpful lady to assist. Found all sorts of unusual gifts. Downstairs the children found toys, although it is more like a hardware shop.

Many years ago we visited the Captain's Cabin and we're delighted with the range of unusual gifts and bric a brac for sale. We were looking forward to this visit and were disappointed as it had much of the standard gifts you could find in any gift shop, and it was expensive.

If you are looking for gifts or simply want to browse around an intertesting and well-stocked 'local' store, do look in here. The staff are very welcoming and helpful and the place stocks a wide range of goods, ranging from clothing, hats, bags, cushions, tartan items, through to ornaments, household goods, toys, china, pottery and so much more. I rarely leave without purchases as there is much to tempt one. The Cabin is located upstairs, adjacent to the Ullapool Bookstore and ironmoingers, right on the main corner by the ferry terminal.

Up the stairs (quite a few and high so no good for wheelchair users and pushchairs need carrying) and you're into a treasure trove of interesting bits and pieces, some local goodies, tartans and tweeds, kids toy section, pottery and much more. Friendly staff and a great range of gifts. I'd like to see more local crafts, soaps etc. Many are of Scottish origin though.

We visit this shop every year and the children always look forward to it. I do agree with one reviewer that more local crafts and handmade items would be nice. However, there is a nice selection for adults and children and we always manage to get lots of our holiday gifts here. Lovely friendly staff, nice clean, well presented shop.
