Course was average. Conditions were unacceptable for $ 170 round. Fairways had excessive divots, rough was almost completely hardpan, and the greens had no grass in may areas. Starter told us it was in great shape, I wonder what course he was playing. It wasn't bad enough to deal with the playing conditions, but we only saw the beverage cart once in the entire round. I don't plan on returning to play at this ficility again.

Was in the area for first time ( I usually play on the east coast of Florida) and happened upon this club. I took a chance and, BOY!!, was I surprised !! I have played an awful lot of so called "upscale" courses in my life but this was a real shocker !! It was simply one of the finest layouts I have ever played ! It is good enough to plan a trip around. It is that nice. Staff was very helpful, food was great, and the course was awesome! Golf digest gives them 4 stars, I think they are at least 1/2 star short, it is that good !

Early morning T time to get done before noon. The course was better than average and was a decent track. It was kinda tough to navigate for optimum score as it was first time there. My only beef is its expensive for what you got but it is prime season so I guess you say “Ah what the heck” and just drop the $$ its vacation.

Flamingo Island at Lely Resort is the nicest course I've ever played, hands down. My wife and I traveled to Naples for our honeymoon and we picked a couple courses that would normally be out of our budget back home. Flamingo Island was at the top of our list and we played the twilight rate to save a few bucks. FYI the range balls are complimentary so get there early to hit the range.
We were easily able to squeeze in a round as the sun was setting, and it was wide open out there in the afternoon despite being the heart of the season. The fairways were in great shape and the greens were large and fast. There are sand traps all over the place and I used my sand wedge more than I ever have. The placement of the traps is a challenge and I'm now realizing I need to work on that part of my game.
Hole #5 was the most memorable hole for us. It's a par 3 surrounded by sand and water with very little room for error, and if you haven't seen what it looks like, do an online image search and check it out! And if you play it, keep an eye out for the big gator lurking nearby. He was chilling by the tee box and leapt into the water as we approached.
Lely Resort was a dream come true for my wife and I. Amazing course, friendly staff, and a nice clubhouse too - we savored the food and drinks and enjoyed the whole experience of our day. It was unforgettable. We hope to be back someday and may consider playing the Mustang course next time around.

A well maintained course. Some water. However your sand wedge will probably get a work out. Greens are quick and fair. An extra is the large practice range and putting green

This was a beautiful course and we had such a great time. The staff was very courteous and friendly and helped us with all our needs. I can’t wait to get back and try this resort again. If you are in the area be sure to stop here to golf.

The Flamingo course at Lely is a one of only a few 'in-season' public play options around Naples. Our experience was most, if not all, semi-private tracks go all private from Dec-April or at least Jan-March. A friend suggested Lely... we played the Flamingo in mid-February. Hunted for a more moderately priced tee time (mid-afternoon) at about $160ish... down from the $200's for a morning round. Staff is attentive and friendly - on par (pun intended) with a higher-end CC or resort experience. However, the course itself needs more work. While a nice track, it benefits from some flower plantings and some scenery (mostly bends through the residential and condos surrounding it), is is in need of better maintenance on the course itself. Specifically tee boxes, green complexes and fairways. I realize in-season is Winter, but the quality of the turf at the private courses in this same price range is just better. At this price point - I get it, it's in-season, but if you are going to charge the price, you need to deliver the product - a course in $200 condition. That was not our experience. It is above average, but not very good or excellent by any measure. For $330 for us to play as a couple, we expected a more nicely manicured layout. We'd return but make sure we seek out that fringe timeframe for the discounted greens fee... would not pay full price for this, it simply should not command that price.

Loads of water make this a tough track. Essential to keep the ball in play. In good condition when we played, and not too busy.
Clubhouse atmosphere a bit cool, but lunch was fine.

Was about it. I was shocked by the wear and tear on the course. And it was muddy in lots of places as constantly cleaning ball off. There was no grass in lots of places outside the fairways and greens were pretty good. Then there were homes everywhere. And you could hear traffic almost the whole course so not serene as expected for a round of golf.
Some positives were they actually had some Flamingos. GPSon carts. Clubhouse is epic. 9 & 18 had a shared green and pretty good holes. The best holes on the course was #4, which was narrow on drive with bunkers placed well and water on right on approach...sweet hole, and hole #17 which was a beast due to narrow and protection everywhere so straight is the best play even if takes you three to get on green for par 4.
Again nice course; not for value paid though. I was told the members prefer Mustang so maybe that is the better course and choice.
A RTJ design is always good though.

We are due to stay at a villa beside the course at the start of July. I would be playing as a single, what would the pricing be and is it possible to hire clubs?
