This hidden gem is an absolute must-visit if you are healthy and can hike down to it.
It is accessible by boat or via hike down from a road above. Wear good shoes if you prefer the hike.
There is a small restaurant and bar at the beach, making it perfect for an afternoon relaxation post a dip in the cove.

The photos you see of the cove is really what it looked like, if there are no people. During the day, there is a constant stream of tour boats that bring people. They stay for a bit and leave. By about 3pm, it starts to get quieter and more enjoyable, but the trade off is that the sun is not shining on the beach.
We arrived on our sailboat and stayed the night. We also were there in September, which was still fairly busy, so I can't imagine what it would be like in the busy summer season.
There is a small restaurant / bar run by two great brothers. Make sure you visit them as well.

Rated most beautiful beach in Europe a few years ago, easy to see why. Unfortunately this title has brought with it a massive influx of people, somewhat taking away from the natural beauty of the beach. Still worth a visit though

We visited the bay as part of a boat tour around a few of the islands. The guide has said it was voted best bay in Europe so I had high expectations but don’t really understand what made this better than any other. Admittedly I’m spoilt as I live on surrounded by coastline but when it doesn’t have sand but shingle, and it’s not particularly dramatic, I’d say there’s better in the UK let alone in Croatia.

Splendid little bay. Accessible either by boat or little hike.
Pebbles beach with clear shallow water in the bay opening on cristalline blue open sea.
Worth the stop (be there before 4pm to enjoy the sun )

We went by foot. There is a 20 min heavy downhill climbing. The view is great, the road is slippery and rock, but if you wear PROPER shoes(NOT slippers) it’s not that of a problem to come to the bay.
The bay itself is a natural phenomen, all the stone gravings are made by sea and wind.
The way up is sweathier but easier on the foot, due to better weight distribution(it seem to me like natural stairs) on your knees and legs.
The way up took us about 30min.
There is a bar on the beach of the Stiniva bay, we did not drink there cuz we brought our own drinks. I recommend bringing lots of fluid, and if possible a hat or a cap for the head!

We arrived from the Sea, and snorkelled to the Beach. Snorkeling was good, but the Beach overrated in my opinion. Too many Instagram obsessed tourists. Go to the Local Beach in Komiza for a more peaceful and authentic experience and a Nice swim.

A must beach to visit while on Vis. We hired an island boat tour and got here before the place fulled with boats. You either come via boat and swim or get small dingy into tiny cove or have a fair walk down from the hills above. Beautiful secluded place. There is a bar to buy cold drinks and a small pebble beach to lay out in the sun when not swimming. Go early in the day.

It's a fairly small beach with a beach bar overlooking it. As charming as it may be the descent/ascent to the beach on foot was absolutely brutal even for us 25yos. The waves were brutal and the shade not plenty. Avoid the cafe at all costs!

So, my friend and I were staying in Komiza for several days and for our last day we planned on renting a car or a quad and going alongside the coast, beach hopping. Unfortunately weather wasn't really good, and after braving the wind and the curvy road on the quad, we finally managed to reach Stiniva. We probably didn't go faster than 40 km/ph but with the strong wind, we were bent forward and our hair was flying wild as if we were racing, to the amusement of the overtaking cars...
(btw, going around Vis on a scooter, on a windy day, is not a really good idea).
Now, I've seen photos of Stiniva cove online, but somehow all of them were either taken right at the beach or from the air (or so I thought). Turns out the cove is a steep, rocky downhill way down from the road and the parking.
There's even a sign saying you're descending at your own risk.
I'm not afraid of heights, but am afraid of falling and cutting myself in pieces on sharp rocks.
As I couldn't miss the chance to go and see such a wonder of nature (not to mention the humiliation in front of my friend, a descent of Kilimanjaro climbers), I decided to take the plunge (almost literally). I'll be honest and say right away that I'm overweight and not really fit.
Down we went in our flip-flops. After 5 min od descend, some people going uphill told us to put trainers on because it'll be easier and safer. So we did, although it was a challenge to keep the balance while putting them on (nowhere to sit, nothing to hold onto).
After 10min of descend, I was all dusty, sweaty, puffy, my legs were shaking, my dress had holes in it from catching on the grubs...
While I was holding onto the tough Mediterranean grubs for my dear life (highly recommended!), my (more fit) friend was happily snapping away selfies with the cove in the background and commenting what a paradise on earth this is. All I thought was "Good thing we're already in paradise, because I'm going to die here". I didn't allow my friend to take photos of me during the descent because my face looked like a tomato.
Near the end, I forgot about dignity and decided to do it 'caterpillar style'.
The path is not exactly 'made' and at some points it's not even clear which way it goes. But the biggest problem are crumbling rocks and unstable stones.
People going up told us it's definitely worth it and that it will be much easier on the way up (they lied!) .
So, after some 25min we finally came down. It took me some time to recover before soaking in the surroundings. The rocks surrounding the cove are wonderful and there were some people rock climbing and then just letting go, falling into the sea.
Despite the wind and clouds, there were many people at the tiny beach.
There is one cafe/bar/restaurant right on the beach, and while prices were a bit higher than in a local town, they weren't extortionate. There's an upper deck of the bar, which offers a beautiful view.
The sea wasn't cold despite the wind and rain, and even if it was, there was no way in hell I'd miss swimming in there after such an effort to get there!
The sea is crystal clear, with many fish you can enjoy observing if you have a mask and a snorkel. There was one lost sea urchin, probably brought in by the waves, but other than that, no other danger.
The way up...I nearly died. I almost told my friend to go and just leave me there, because I didn't think I would make it. Luckily, she entertained herself with another round of selfies and that gave me time to catch up.
I am glad I visited Stiniva Cove (and survived it) but I am not going there again unless I'm coming from the sea, by a boat, or they install some kind of cable system.

Hi im not 100% sure this is the right page im on. I saw a video on facebook saying a reason to go to Croatia is the secret Stiniva beach so hoping this is right or you can point me in the right direction. We will be staying in Porec in may and would love to visit here. Do we have to book a trip/ excursion or is there a boat we can just catch for the day. Thanks

I've just seen your post now. Is it too late to answer?
