I traveled to Italy this summer for my 39th birthday. I had the pleasure of visiting Villa Valmarana during an extended trip to the Venice area. It was such a unique treat that was unexpected on my travels! The history of the Villa is evident throughout as you wander the halls viewing frescoes dating back to the 15th century. The owners have taken great care to maintain the property (an interesting comparison to the sister property next door which has been converted to current residential use). The halls are adorned with beautiful art work - including oil landscapes of the Villa as created and crafted by the owner. As you continue to tour the grounds, the beauty only grows outdoors. Wandering through the gardens, I just wanted to pull up a blanket and picnic basket to soak up the sun and bask in the quiet beauty. The Villa is tucked away down a small pebble pathway (ok for cars) along the Brenta Canal. It was easy to use public transportation (bus) to get here as there is a stop right at the corner. There was an adorable little market near the canal bridge crossing that had great house wine and other miscellaneous goods for a traveler or local alike. The Villa also offered some takeaway items (postcards, etc) in their small shop. This is a must see on your travels if you are a lover of history and beautiful things! Incorporate it into your day trip to Venice (to escape the crowds if nothing else) and do a tour of other local villas along the canal.

Gorgeous! I definitely recommend a visit. The gardens and villa are beautiful. I can spend hours just roaming the grounds.

I was married in Mira, Italy, (just outside Venice) in 2015, and we hosted our wedding reception at Villa Valmarana. The Villa is truly magical, and was such an unforgettable place to host our special day. From the architecture, to the frescoes, to the historic furnishings, and every little detail, the immaculate gardens, its every detail fascinates. The staff were efficient and knowledgeable, and worked with us to seamlessly bring together the best of local vendors who offered a level of attention to detail I have seldom seen in terms of menu, wine, tables and linens, etc. In short: Villa Valmarana is the ideal place for a classic Italian-style wedding.

This is a lovely villa and the gardens are also very pretty. To find the entrance, ensure you ring the doorbell at the gates as they are kept closed and can confuse you (check the opening hours).

Beautiful ! The frescoes alone are worth the visit. They have a small cafe which is very nice and the garden, although small, is definitely worth the tour.
