About
Unspoilt, rolling hills – that’s what you will discover at Burton Dassett Hills. Whether you are walking, flying a kite or just sitting in your car, the magnificent views from these hills are breathtaking. The site comprises a series of rugged hilltops affording spectacular views in all directions and Fox Covert, a small woodland with a surfaced footpath. Opened as a country park in 1971, the 100 acres contain a wealth of historical interest such as the prominent beacon, quarry remains and the nearby 12th Century All Saints Church.

Drove up here whilst staying locally to walk the dogs, unfortunately we couldnt let them offlead because of the sheep grazing freely. As usual, unnecessary sheep farming ruining our countryside! Sheep poo everywhere too which spoils it more.
Such a shame as its a lovely open green space with far reaching views and plenty of space and picnic benches.
Went late afternoon as the light was dwindling and there were a few cars around with single passengers acting oddly and some seemingly 'waiting' for something?? After feeling uncomfortable, and a bit of online googling, definitely things happen here later on in the day that we didnt want to be part of so we didnt hang around very long. Oo-er missus.
Won't be coming back methinks :/

Good afternoon
I'm very sorry to hear you felt uncomfortable during your visit to Burton Dassett Hills Country Park. We do our utmost to make our parks welcoming and accessible to all. We encourage visitors to report any suspicious behaviour to the Police using the non-emergency 101 telephone number.
The tenant farmer grazes sheep on the hills throughout the year, which provides a traditional and natural way of keeping the grass short and maintaining accessibility for visitors, without the need for mowing.
I hope you reconsider and give Burton Dassett Hills another try at some point in the future.
Best regards, Alex

We visited twice in August and one time it was lovely, we had a picnic and the kids could run about safely and play. The second time it was so windy it was freezing even though a lovely day - take a jumper! Great for kite flying and there were lots about.
Beautiful views, shame people don’t take their rubbish home!!
The parking meter was broken and no indication of where to go to pay, we looked around for 20 mins in the end we had to risk it

Absolutely stunning spot on a clear day. It is now one of favourite places. The views from the top over central England can not be beaten. Really is a Green and Pleasant land when you are looking out over the countryside from here.
There is plenty of parking at £3 for the day

I love this park. I found that if you do a full circuit all the way round it takes about 30 minutes so quite often I do two laps that way I’m getting an hours really good walking in. The views are beautiful from multiple points in the park as well. Toilets are okay at least there are some. Car parking is a bit hit and miss they’ve got three car park areas and only two machines so if you park at the very back you do have to get a ticket before you park there or you’ve got a walk back to your car with the ticket quite a way. The park is spotless so whoever cleans it doesn’t really good job and people seem to look after it. It’s a lovely place for coming with your dogs or just a walk, fying a kite, bringing a picnic ,everything really.

As the title suggests. Naturally beautiful. I am 48 this year and have been coming here for as long as I can remember. So many fun filled memories, I add my review so others can have them too. X

Before visiting the heritage motor museum we visited this very pretty country park. After driving through the park, passing sheep roaming on the road i accidentally missed the car park so continued towards the far end and turned around in a safe controlled manor. As i proceeded to move to the car park an elderly gentleman driving a silver 4x4 vehicle with a trailer(reg number ending nxc)undertook me on the grass at speed with several sheep nearby. He then cut in front of me before driving off extremely aggressively. He had a dog in the 4x4 and we believe a young child(maybe wrong)I find it necessary to write this on tripadvisor as i believe my wife and my safety was placed in a serious position........i have the whole of the lunatics number plate and just wanted to warn other people about this mans danger.....the park has a 15 mile an hour speed limit and he overtook me at double that. Please be careful....as this park was a beautiful country park, but he spoilt it for us.

A lovely place nearby the lovely Village of Southam. Good level paths, great views and dog friendly. It's amazing how easy it is to find peaceful places away from the crowds.

Brilliant place to spend some quality family time outdoors. Very windy but kids loved the woods and rolling down hills just as much at 10 and 14 as they did when very little!

Pretty sure you can. The road is quite narrow in places and I don’t think you can park overnight but I think they’re the only constraints
Round about 9PM some winged beasts come out of no where and start swarming around, does anyone know what they are?

can dogs be let off the lead or is the park full of sheep?

if the sheep are there, then its advisable to keep your dog under control or on a lead if you consider it may run after them.

No, sorry we don't allow BBQs in any of Warwicskshire's Country Parks.
You can of course, bring a picnic

Where is the best place to grab a bite to eat that admits dogs?
The Gaydon Inn has closed down. There is nowhere very local to the Dassett Hills but I would recommend The Wharf at Fenny Compton, which is very dog friendly and is located on the Grand Union Canal about 4 miles away. Excellent food too.

There's a single road that runs through the park, at one point it bends 90 degrees, another smaller road runs off it and to the car parks. If you are stood at this junction and look downhill, the toilet block (and water bowls for dogs) are on your right, in the dip and behind the trees. It's a brick building, you should be able to see it clearly.
Why is there a lot of sheep we visited the park and found ourselves tip toeing around sheep poo

The hills are grazed by sheep in common with national parks as an environmentally sensitive way to control the grass, and has been practice here since before it was a Country Park.
Is this hotel near Napier drive
