    Well worth a visit
Arrived at the museum and was very impressed with the staff they gave us a map and information about the museum in each of the rooms there was plenty to see and seating in all of them which was very helpful in for anyone with walking difficulties. Great value for money and would reccomend the museum. There is a cafe attached to it and very good too.
Thank-you for your review - we're pleased that you enjoyed your visit and your trip to the Cafe.

Well worth a visit - much bigger and better than expected
We thought this would be a small niche museum, but it's much bigger and better than we could have imagined. Lots of interesting exhibits, fascinating history of fishery, great insight into the fisher families/towns life of times gone by with a great follow on to more current practices. Surprising number of boats and great to see the care being given to hold on to history. Thanks.
Thank-you for your review and your comments on how we try to blend both old and more contemporary displays.

Interesting look into the history fishing in Scotland.
Me family visited the fishing museum on August 9th. It was very interesting and informative the staff were friendly. Some of highlights were, the model boats especially the ww2 model ferry, we enjoyed seeing all the boats that were being repaired including the research, the sail boat reaper outside was very interesting. Overall we really enjoyed our vist and hope to vist again. Also kids get in for free!
Thank-you for your review - and for your comments on the work of the talented members of our Model Boat Club alongside our full-size vessels. We are glad you enjoyed your visit - please do come back again.

A great way to spend an afternoon
We didn’t realise how big the museum was, there was so much to see. It was well worth the £11 entry. The free audio guide was good, just enough information to listen to without feeling overwhelmed. Very glad we went
Thank-you for your review. We tried to pick the highlights of our collection to feature in the audioguide so it's good to hear that you think we got the balance right.

    Hidden gem
Had a wonderful visit to this museum. Was so much bigger than we anticipated and loaded with so much useful and interesting information. Was amazed at the amount of artifacts held. This told the story of Fife fishing so well
Thank-you so much for your positive review. We're glad you enjoyed your visit - the small entrance is deceptive and I think a lot of people are surprised at the scale of the displays.

    A wonderful experience.
Myself and my wife visited the museum today as part of a quick stay in Crail. We found it to be absolutely wonderful and much bigger than we had imagined! All staff were friendly and engaging, and very helpful. The museum itself is so interesting, with a range of written panels, children’s interactive activities, and media interpretation. A wonderful representation of fishing communities, especially great to see such strong representation of the women of fishing communities. Would absolutely recommend.
Thank-you for your positive and detailed review - we will pass your comments on to our staff who will be pleased to get your feedback.

My wife and I visited the tearoom attached to the museum, it used to be a favourite of ours but today the staff attitude was extremely disappointing.
The female staff member lectured us for having sat at a table after telling us to sit anywhere . apparently if a plastic card is face down you are meant to know the area has not been sanitized, in the old days we would have pointed out the table surface was dirty and had not been cleaned.
Her demeanour was cheeky and disrespectful and we will not return there, Covid-19 does not excuse everything and offhand comments should not be accepted.
There are other café type places locally where the staff are welcoming I recommend people go to those venues instead

Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback. We are very sorry that you had a bad experience this time. Covid-19 has presented challenges but as you say it does not excuse such a situation. We always try to make our visitors welcome while keeping everyone safe but we apologise if we got the balance wrong on this occasion and hope you will reconsider coming back.

Interesting museum, far bigger than expected. Good insight into the (often hard) lives of fisherfolk. You can easily spend a couple of hours here. It also felt very safe and for much of the visit we had the Museum to ourselves.

Allow at least an hour+ for this museum; it is extremely interesting, well presented and informative. Some lovely art work and great histories of the fishing industry and how hard life was for both men and women on the coast earning a living fishing and supplying fish worldwide. Absolutely fascinating. Would highly recommend.

My family and I visited whilst staying in Anstruther for the weekend. The museum is incredibly interesting and and the interactive tour guide very informative too. Deceptively large, the museum offers a great insight into the lives of those affiliated with the seas. Well worth a visit

What a shame that a family meeting, involving refreshments became a long drawn out affair!
The lone staff member in charge of proceedings was so apologetic as she informed us of a likely wait for our order due to staff shortages.
We duly accepted her predicament would result in food and drinks being delayed as she was all hands on deck in quite a busy tea room until her colleague joined her on shift.
Our food arrived at probably the same time as the cafe manager and was definitely warmer than hèr attitude! We overheard her bark instructions at her staff and there seemed to be a negative atmosphere with her presence.
No smiles, interaction with customers or even basic politeness and courtesy is not something you expect in a manager, especially in a hospitality industry?
The food was excellent. The ladies rolling their sleeves up and getting stuck in behind the counter should be commended.

Thank you for your comments and our apologies for a less than satisfactory visit to our Waves Café. Thank you also for your positive comments about the food quality. As with many hospitality businesses we are currently having to operate with reduced staffing numbers due to serious recruitment issues which we seeking to resolve as quickly as possible. This is not ideal for any business. Regarding service and overall attitude, a more detailed discussion with the team will take place to ensure we meet our commitment to a positive customer experience at all times. We appreciate your feedback.

Avoid the tearoom. Unpleasant and rude staff serving. Very abrupt when you asked a question about the selection available. You weren’t allowed to go to the counter to see what was there and the woman serving was annoyed we asked her to tell us what was there instead.

What we did receive were terrible pancakes which were opened out of a plastic wrapper and flung on a plate and dried out cake which looked and tasted like it had been out overnight.

Very poor experience overall.
