It's a powerful thing when you look at American history and see the names of people who made the ultimate sacrifice for us to have the freedoms we so often take for granted.

Virginia Tech has done a beautiful job with this memorial. I was quite moved by it, especially noticing that people are evidently still placing mementoes at some of the individual markers. The whole campus is gorgeous, and this is an important and beautiful element of it.

As parents of a VT staff member at the time of the murders, we find this memorial a moving and important reminder of what can happen when mental illness goes unrecognized and guns become available to the wrong people. VT is a great school and Blacksburg is the last place you'd expect such a tragedy. Visit the memorial, think about our society and weep.

This is a well done and respectful memorial remembering the fallen. I would not make a special trip to see it unless you are already visiting the campus. I think it is more for those who have a personal connection.

The honors and memorials to the fallen VT students and teachers is lovely and very humbling. Truly an experience for me and I recommend a visit, it doesnt take much time, but is definitely worth the stop to get to know those who sacrificed and were victim to the senseless act of violence.

If you are going to be in Blacksburg, you should stop by and see this. It's a picturesque setting and a lovely memorial to 32 needles, tragic deaths. Also a reminder of the strong community of Virginia Tech. It's perfectly simple and moving.

Virginia Tech just had many ceremonies for the 32 people that were killed that day. It was a tragic day on April 16, 2007. The memorial is understated and a place for meditation and reflection. It is beautiful and tastefully done.

A beautiful and moving memorial. From Drillfield Drive in front of Burress a little hard to see, but easy to see from the Drillfield itself. Worth a visit.

The Memorial to the loss of life is must for all who come to Blacksburg. It will be 10 years this April but has meaning today base on what happens on colleges campuses across the US.

This is a Memorial dedicated to those students and faculty that lost their lives on the terrible events of April 16, 2007. That night, students gathered 32 Hokie Stones and placed them in front of Burress Hall. It became a place for people to mourn together and to reflect on the lives senselessly lost - thus beginning as a memorial truly from the heart. Very, very touching as one thinks about the event of that terrible day.
