We were unsure of what we were about to go into. Upon entering the building and being greeted by a lovely lady, she informed us it was free to enter and was about Parade Floats. What a unique and unusual place to see, but so worth a stop.

If you are into parades (which admittedly I'm not), you might enjoy this place. It reminded me of an acid trip, not that I have any personal experience with such but you get my drift.
I am writing this review, however, to warn parents of small children of one thing. In the back, there is an old pumper fire truck. Cool, in and of itself, however, there are two axes attached to the side, which are very real and not in any way, shape or form secured. Anyone can pick them up and pretty much do whatever they want with them. I pointed that out to the two women working at the entrance and they said they had pointed that out to the general manager several times. I asked to speak to him and pretty much his attitude was "whatever." He said he was looking into it but frankly, I wouldn't trust him to actually do so. Just keep an eye on the kiddies!
Kids would probably like this place, though.

We've never been to a museum of parade floats before and it was so cool! The floats are so impressive and well maintained. So glad we stopped by when visiting the Caverns!

Very nice, and no extra charge. Go to Luray, and then visit here... floats from many parades, no reproductions.

Fascinating collection of parade floats. Free admission and right next door to Shenandoah Caverns. Worth a stop!

Im going to focus on the outside the building. The Cootie is MUCH BIGGER than the cootie in Lakeview, MN billed as the largest cootie in the world. Hey Guinness Records....what say you?

This place is so much fun! What happens to parade floats after the parade? They come here! It was really fun getting to see these floats that you have seen on TV, up close and personal. Make sure to visit the Shenandoah Caverns building as well with the “yesteryear” window displays. We loved it! We drove about 90 minutes out of our way to visit and were so glad we did.

It’s FREE. I did not even see a donation jar. The collection, parking, and bathrooms are accessible to the physically handicapped population. There is parking for RVers if you can making the swing. It is conveniently located from Interstate 81 and is a stone’s throw away from the Shenandoah Caverns and Route 1- Chips. The people are friendly. This show has seasonal hours Depending upon your interest level, you could easily spend an hour here. The bathrooms are clean. NO food or snacks are available. Bring your own stuff and eat it in the parking lot. Take a walk around the outside to enjoy the large sculptures.

Could have been better. Some of the automation and TV wasn't working. It was kind of awkward touring the place when there is a birthday party going on.

This is a hidden gem getting to see all of the various parade floats up close and learn there history.
There are about 20 different floats to see and they cover many different areas.
There is no entry fee to view the collection and it takes about 45 minutes to and hour to walk thru the building.
I never realized the scale and scope of some of the floats you see on tv
This is a must see place.
