Great bar food, nice pours, very nice selection of beers. Bartenders are amazing. The first thing they do when you go in is great you and ask your name. Very friendly, we went in again the next day and the bar tender greeted us by name and asked if we wanted the same as the night before.... amazing lady. Great atmosphere and fun.

I flew-in, checked-in at Wyndham Bayside, showered & went for a walk - didn’t find India Street, so I walked back on Kettner. I had many enticements, before I stopped-into the Waterfront.
It was unique because the sidewalk ran through the bar! The Waterfront is the oldest bar in San Diego California “Semper Fi”!
I ordered a Guinness & then I had “The Waterfront” burger and another Guinness. I added jalapeños to mine! Afterwards I hiked back to the bayside well fed, tripping, & happy.
Keep partying this is a good one! No taillights tonight either!

Kind of cool old school vibe. We sat outside to enjoy the fresh air. The smell inside is noticeable. Could be combo of bar food - fish- and an aging building.
Great drinks for cheap!

We again went because this came highly recommended and we enjoyed our meal! The table selection was limited but the waitress understood we wanted to wait for an outside table and they cleared the first available as soon as the other patrons left. Nice staff! We had Country Steak, much like country fried steak, Machaca that was delicious and spicy and the #1 American. All were flavorful and enjoyable. We would go again for the service and food!

We needed a spot for the evening to watch the Tampa Bay Lightning hockey game!! Every TV was tuned in for the SD Chargers game, but they willingly accommodated us in the back (We were of course, the ONLY ones in there NOT watching the football game) so we didn't mind and didn't want to interrupt. It was a great early evening for us (EST zone thing) The bar food was great--the "medium" honey chipotle wings were crazy hot (and my hubby is no slouch when it comes to heat), so let the orderer beware!! But the grilled cheese was perfect for the event and scene!! It was hopping busy, but in my opinion, that how a neighborhood sports bar/grill should be. Thanks, we had a great time and will swing back if we are ever in town again!!

We were visiting from Denver Colorado and stopped in to have a few drinks. This place was amazing! Great staff and great crowd. We sat up front at first and belted out the songs playing over heard. Then we moved to the back area where they have old pinball machines. When one of the pinball machines didn't work they gave a free drink card. We danced along other patrons, while enjoying good drinks at a good price! Want to feel like you are at Cheers in San Diego then this is the place!!

This is exactly what I look for in a bar & grill. It was small, dimly lit and oozing with history. I was there on "Taco Tuesday" so naturally had to take advantage of the special, which did not disappoint. Of course our waiter also indicated their sliders were not to be ignored, so I tacked one of those on as well. All of the food was amazing, but it's the chicken tacos that will forever be burned in my memory. The staff was amazing, friendly and very helpful, going so far as to give me and my dining companion vouchers for a free drink on our next visit (something I took advantage of the next day).
While "waterfront" is a term I'd use loosely with its location, it isn't far at all from the harbor, a quick 10 minute or so walk. If you're in the area, I would highly recommend taking the time stop in for a bite, it's well worth your time.

Had to ask for a local beer joint that wasn't a tourist trap, This was a10 minute walk from the waterfront and was a pleasant surprise, cheap prices and great food along with a historic look at the changes in the waterfront over the years with pictures on all the walls
Great little hole in the wall!!

The portions here are huge....and even that is an understatement. Good quality breakfast. I ordered a beef patty with my eggs and it was literally a hamburger patty. They don’t skimp on the food, which is a plus in an area that more often than not, seems to charge more for less food. Nice little patio out front to sit on nice days. This tavern is also a strong supporter of the military, evidenced by the many signs and trinkets in the restaurant. Huge plus!
