Constant Companion and I had just arrived from Florence and after checking into our hotel decided to walk through Pienza and get a bite to eat. Always looking for a well patronized, local's place away from the tourist traps we stumbled upon La Vecchia Bottega. What a gem! There are a few tables outside on the adjacent side street and a few more inside! We opted to sit in the sun outside after first checking with the owners inside. Our server, who I believe is the owner's daughter, was delightful. She spoke a little English which was better than my Italian. We settled on a selection of local cured meats and three different types of local pecorino cheeses and fresh ricotta, varying in age(Taglere n. 4 - 15 Euros). I ordered a DOCG Brunello and CC a Pinot Grigio. The cheeses and meats were delightful-so fresh and local. All in all a light, lovely place for lunch.

I was impressed by all the local products offered in this shop. The owner is quite knowledgeable. We ended up purchasing some of the aged and newer pecorino cheeses.

Had a lovely cheese and charcuterie platter along with bruschetta with tomatoes in this quaint eatery. All the food was locally sourced and was delicious.

A very small but nice place. It is also a boutique with alcohol and food. We ordered a table of meats and cheeses, caprese salad and local beer. Everything tasted delicious, the service is also very nice. I recommend!

Small wine bar with a litle terrace. We did a tasting of Pecorino cheeses with several cures accompanied by a pleasant red wine. Paid 25 euros (2 people). Perfect for a late afternoon.

What a find, absolutely fabulous.

We were looking for a light lunch and sheltering from the rain (we were back in Pienza the day after the collosal storm which flooded Livorno).

I opted for the tortelloni with wild boar and my wife had a plate of crostini, washed down with a glass of local red wine. Both brilliant.

Great service and friendly staff. It is a tiny venue but a real Aladdin's cave. A good supply of dried pasta, cheeses and local sauces.

We are a lover of Pienza (1st visit mid 1990's), so it was great to return.

Amazing local platters to have a flavor of pienza cheeses. Service is ok but what really matters is that you will get the really flavors of the region.they offer a great but selective array of cold cuts and cheese platters as well as local wines. Great place for a quick lunch!

This is a super cute and very nice place wherein buy top quality local and traditional food such as salami, prosciutto, pecorino cheese and also eating at the moment super tasty sandwiches, taglieri and other things. Also great wine! The owners are very gentle and nice. it is a place where to stop, eat well and taste also a bite of the local tradition. Great Pleasure! The new owners-manager, Stefano and Sandra made of this place a must!
