In the Folon foundation you will find a large overview of the famous artist Folon. The location is beautifully situated in the domain of Solvay. So after a visit to Folon, you can still walk for hours in the beautiful nature

A small museum, but fun from the start. After watching a very short video of Folon drawing a bird, the door of the museum will open automatically and you will enter the imaginative world of Folon. I hardly knew Folon before visiting the museum, but I am a fan now. Such simple but poetical drawings, paintings and sculptures.
The location of the museum is also superb, in an old renovated farm in the middle of the beautiful Solvay park. I came by car and it is probably very difficult to get here by public transport. There is also a nice bistro just across the museum.
Free to visit if you have a museum-pass.

Not huge, but one of the most beautiful place to visit in and atound Brussels. The inside of the museum is very well designed and the paintings perfectly presented. In addition, the surrounding park is gorgeous and worth the short trip from Brussels as well.

I didn't know Folon before visiting this museum and I must say his work is quite impressive. The museum is nicely laid out and gives you a nice overview of his art. The surrounding park is stunning and well worth a stroll. I have only two criticisms: the titles of the various pieces are not translated into English and even the videos shown have no English subtitles, which makes the visit of non French speakers less enjoyable. Finally, the shop does not sell reproductions of his most interesting works, like the illustrations of the Human rights. Such a pity!

We never heard of Folon before, but having met his surprising statues/sculptures in the park of Chateau de la Hulpe, we got hooked to see the museum, too. And what a revelation to see the full works of him displayed carefully in various buildings - now we grasped his desire of travel in his mind, lifting himself, flying, the empty suitcase filled by the landscape of the castle park. Reflect his ideas and enjoy his art.
Bying a few postcards and posters to fill my office with his "magritte-like" interpretation of travelling.

Great setting, great museum.
If you like the painter Folon, go there. And if you do not know him, go as well. You get to understand the man,.. .the way he works, and how he thinks. Get into his head. Well explained. Well done.

Art & outdoors getaway, two in one, an amazing family choice. Away from the noisy city, there is an amazing and peaceful park with a very interesting exhibition of the work of Jean Michel Folon that parents and children will love.

The exhibition was very nicely presented in a renovated farm in the La Hulpe castle property. Folon used to work with different techniques: painting, wood, bronze,... and this aspect was interesting to me.
