We made a trip to the castle and around the rocks and cliffs. Amazing nature to hike in :-) There is several small castle ruins as well as many rocky hills and paths you can explore.

I would like to say that's main attraction in Kokořínsko. The nature is beautiful there. The castle is small only main hall, and 2 floors. You will see surroundings if you go to the tower.

Nicely restored old castle with great viewing tower. The castle is easily accessible via short walk from parking. The dogs are allowed. The place offers paid tour around chambers and paid entrance to the tower. The fees are really symbolic.
As such it is nice place to visit while takingsome of the marked walking trails.

Perfect for one day trip from Prague. The fastest way to get there is by car, the romantic one is by train and then a bit walkiing and the mine was just walk there from Melnik. It is surrounded by beautiful forest and small villages all around.

It is quite a hike up to this castle (if you park down in the valley) but worth it when you get there. The castle is very old (fourteenth century) but has been recently restored and is interesting as it is now owned by one family and this is reflected in the interiors, where many of the paintings on the walls show family members - in the gothic style. The entrance hall is splendid and one can admire it with the help of the printed sheet in English while the Czech guide explains things to others. It is furnished with older items of furniture as well commissioned neo gothic pieces. The tour takes you up to the top floor where bear skins adorn the floor and there is a model of the castle. One then walks round the battlements with views over the surrounding woodlands to come back down again to the keep.

While only a small part of the castle has been fully restored, it is beautiful throughout. Breathtaking views of the surrounding Bohemian countryside can be had from the towers. A nice hike to the castle will be rewarded when the hrad looms over you, perched atop its cliffs. Perfect for a day trip from Prague.

This place could be the best advertising for Europe - a fairytale castle amidst the forest! Even if the todays appearance is 100 years old :)

Visiting Kokorinsko and Cesky raj natural reservations, you must not miss this castle. Located in the middle of Kokorinsko forests, it is one of many castles in the region. It is a well preserved castle with a lovely courtyard and tower. You can either climb up the tower for a little fee or get a guided tour of entire castle. We enjoyed amazing views of landscape from the tower.

A parking place is about 20 minutes walk from the castle. If you feel hungry, you can check out a restaurant close to the parking place.
