This is our favourite beach in Italy and we come here very regularly. We love it for its unspoilt charm, the lack of people and how it is immersed in nature. This beautiful sandy beach is 5.5km long and has driftwood and tree trunks brought by the sea.
You can reach Marina di Alberese in 3 ways:
1. by bicycle along the designated cycle tracks or quiet roads from Alberese and Rispescia villages. You can rent bikes from Alberese if the place you are staying at doesn't provide them.
2. By the shuttle buses that run frequently from Alberese and Rispescia
3. By car, however the car park is very small and fills rapidly during the summer (by 9am in August). You reach a barrier, your license plate is photographed and on the way out there are payment machines where you type in your license plate and pay.
As a result of the small car park there is plenty of room on the 5.5km long beach, providing that you don't mind walking past the more crowded first km heading South along the beach. I'd recommend walking around 2km along the beach where, even in high season, there'll be plenty of space between you and the next people, but don't be shocked if some of your neighbours are nude, it's not obligatory!
The water is rarely crystal clear because the sand is clean but very fine and also the river Ombrone is just North of the beach and deposits a small amount of silt into the water. Nevertheless the water is clean.
Who will like this beach?
Couples, families with small kids, beachcombers, walkers, cyclists, people who like unspoilt sandy coastline and don't need much in the way of infrastructure or entertainment
Who won't like this beach
People who prefer busy beaches with bars, restaurants, music or other kinds of infrastructure; people who don't like walking or cycling; people who want to go snorkling.

Not a lot of people and one may find a quiet place there, important - the sea and the beach were clean! No plastic bags or bottles swimming over (like we saw in other places). Thanks to the length of the beach one may have a nice walk along the beach that takes up to an hour one way. Be prepared to meet at some point a nudists spot. The beach is pretty wild and has no cafes, restaurants etc. you need to have all with you. Great that it has a parking right at the beginning of the beach: just few steps away

We've been here for 10 days and have yet to hear an English voice! It's 2 Euros to park but half price if you get a code from your Agriturismo. Because there is so much driftwood there are numerous DIY shelters which gives it a South Sea Island feel.

Beach is quite crowded and you would have to walk quite a while to find a spot. If you go by bike, you can find quieter places.

Great place to enjoy the beach. Limited entry by camera number plate recognition. Very affordable, maximum Euro 6 a day. An endless beach with shaded huts made of drift wood. The further you walk the less the clothing gets. Great beach and privacy.

It is a very good natural park to walk and byke. beyond the trees you'll find a long white sandy wild beach. I recommend the walk to Cala Forno (6 km and other six back), a secluded cove with a great beach. Best out of peak season. Beware of nasty mosquitos

Note this is a park where there is limited car access and its worth just parking the car in the town of Alberese and then getting the bus to the beach for Eur 2. You also have option to hire a bike and ride to the beach through some country trails.
The beach is sandy and has a lot of drift wood that can be used to prop up a shade on a sunny day like we had. The water was nice and warm with the beach very child friendly as the sea was less than waist deep up to 100m out.
Also remember to take some provisions with you as there is nothing close by to buy food or drinks till you get back on the bus to the main town.

Unlike so many other beaches with sunbeds and parasols, this beach is set in the beautiful national park backed by pine woods.
The car park is very small so if full you might end up queuing while you wait for someone to leave (we came late morning on a Friday in September and had to queue for about 25 minutes). Unless you have lots to carry it is probably just as easy to go to the village of Albarese (not many reasons to go there though there is a well stocked little shop!) to park and catch the bus.
There is lots of wood on the beach which people have used to make shacks or to attach large beach sheets to make shade. You can buy one from the sellers on the beach or bring your own (lots of string is useful too). There's a busy shack to buy drinks and snacks but probably better to bring your own. Large number of toilets with outside running water.

Grazie

Domani sabato 8 maggio vorrei portarci i miei bambini. Il parcheggio è ancora a pagamento? Quanto?

Presterò attenzione a eventuali vostri messaggi.
