Interesting Spot
pro 2019 • Jednotlivci
Revash is an interesting spot which shows some old mausoleos and gives an overview how in former times the (important) dead people were treated. The landscape around the tombs is impressive. If you‘re coming from Chachapoyas it‘s a approx. 2 hour drive by car. If it‘s really worth needs to be decided by everyone itself.

Bet your luck or just take a tour
říj 2019 • Jednotlivci
The main problem traveling on your own at chachapoya was transportation. Visited Revash on my own and probably used all my luck to get a transportation to the site!

Revash is really far away from the city of chachapoya (pleaserefer to map). I took a combi (sol 8) to yerbabuena (around 2 hours), then with many luck I met two veey kind gentlemen who were going to santo Tomás, they drove me to up to Revash! Super kind of them because it was so hard to find a car that passed yerbabuena.

Arrived at Revash you could buy your entry ticket for 15 sol, and the path started off at the right side of the Plaza. The path was very well paved with stone and it was super easy to walk. The scenery along the way was one of the thing that I loved most, super sceneric and beautiful.

You could see the mausoleos Revash from a pagoda, you could also get near to it but just could not enter into the site. I found the structure, painting, symbol and colors amusing. There is no mineral so the color might be from a local plant.

Note:
*there is no restaurant along the path but some at the Plaza.
*if I didn't meet the 2 gentlemen, another way to go is to get a combi or car that go to santo Tomás, and dropped off at the midway. Start walking all the way up and it might take you more than 2.5 hours.
*on the way from yerbabuena to Revash, there are also some small mausoleos at the cliff, you could try to find them.
* a day tour usually includes the masauleos Revash and the museum at leymebamba. Considering the very very few transportation between the 2 places, it is worth to take a tour to save time.

The Mausoleo Revash is located in a nice little town, really nice and friendly. You can walk all the way up or take a horse ride. It offers spectacular views of the mountains.

Long walk for not a lot to see

The mausoleums are a long up and down walk from the village, and the last kilometer is a harder hike than the first. You're below them so really you get better pictures from the mirador with a telephoto than from below on the trail. Nice exposures on the local geology from the mirador as well.

Nice mausoleums of Chachapoyas tombs
zář 2018 • Pár
After a long two-hour ride from Chachapoyas, we got to the Revash nice mausoleums of Chachapoyas ancestor's tombs. We had to ride horses to the site, because of knee problems. You can only see the mausoleums from far, but it was worthwhile.

Amazing

If you like culture, go there ! The museum is really interesting and you can see the mummies in a really good state of conservation. The only thing is that nothing is written in English so make sure you have an english speaking guide who can explain you what’s going on there.
And finally, the mausoleum are amazing ! Colorful and in a good state of conservation. Never saw such thing before. A wonderful discover of the Chachapoyas civilization.

Built into the cliffs

This town is so impressive the way they have organised visits to the ruins including horse and guides. The town runs this tour and benefits from it. This is a model the government should follow - let the local communities maintain and provide tours to the sites. They receive income, will care for it and protect it from robbers.

Revash Mausoleo de los Chachapoyas

This Mausoleo is a true marvel of the capabilities of the ancient civilizations of Peru to create and build interesting burial places. These are small "houses" built on the side of a precipitous cliff. How the builders did this is truly amazing. These are in excellent condition and worth the hike. The trail is well developed and cared for. I suggest hiking boots. I wore sneakers and wished I had put on my boots. The trail is not difficult. This is an area not to be missed.

It's wonderful place, full of magic, different from everything I have seen up to now! Just be careful - to get there is not easy, but it's worth it! You can ride a horse ( recommended)
