Trams
Blackpool Transport is the proud operator of Blackpool's £100 million tramway. The four year project, which concluded in April 2012, saw the replacement of 11 miles of track, creation of a new depot and introduction of a fleet of 16 state-of-the-art trams. It has never been easier to travel across Blackpool and the Fylde coast, with faster journey times, easy access and integrated Blackpool1 tickets that give you unlimited use of the trams and Blackpool Transport bus network (excluding Heritage Trams). Our frequent and reliable tram service provides an energy efficient mode of transport connecting residents and visitors to all major leisure, retail and businesses along the 11 mile stretch of coastline between Starr Gate and Fleetwood. The trams have level boarding and step-free interiors and designated disabled/pushchair areas making them accessible to all. Our frequent and reliable service connects passengers to all major leisure, retail and businesses along the 11 mile stretch of coastline. Heritage Tram Tours operate on Public and School Holidays, most weekends during Spring/Summer/Autumn and on special events. Heritage Day tickets are available that allow unlimited use of both heritage and modern trams plus Blackpool Transport buses. Heritage Trams stop only at the specially marked Heritage Tram Stops at Pleasure Beach, North Pier/Tower, Cabin, Bispham*, Cleveleys* and Fleetwood Ferry* (*special event days only). Blackpool has the oldest electric street tramway in the world with records dating back to 1884 when track plans were produced for an electric tramway that would connect North and South Shore. Blackpool Corporation paid for and maintained the infrastructure, whilst the Blackpool Electric Tramway Company, formed in January 1885 provided the electrical equipment, depot and tramcars. The tramway opened on the 29th September 1885. After the second world war, there was gradual consolidation and by 1962, the trams were confined to the 11 mile route from Starr Gate to Fleetwood which still operates today. The bus services expanded along with the town throughout the sixties, seventies and eighties. Since bus deregulation in 1986, the trams and buses have been operated by Blackpool Transport Services Ltd, a Blackpool Council Company. While the trams themselves are owned and run by Blackpool Transport, the tramway infrastructure is currently owned by Blackpool Council and leased to the Company, which pays an annual track rental fee for the privilege.

Me and my partner visited on Friday 8th march. We arrived mid afternoon and the weather was cold so it was nice and quiet. We enjoyed a lovely walk around. The tigers, elephants and giraffes were our favourites but the baby orangutan was adorable. All of the food and drink places were closed which was a shame as it would have been nice to get a hot coffee or something to warm up. The signs all around with little facts on are great. It was actually nice not having the kids with us so we could do it at our own pace and we were in and out in about an hour and a half.

Was a quiet time of year, Very helpful staff went out of their way to be friendly, offering advice on the best places to stop and even ensuring you got off at the right spot.

Still a great park, which is great value for money.
operations were spot on, with most rides being a short wait.
I really think there is something for everyone at this park.
Always feel lucky this place is so close to home.

    Areas for improvement.
Some more theming for sure, some more new rides not replacing the classics.
No need for scanning tickets to get onto rides.
It's a very mild inconvenience but the phones slow everything down.
I always print ours off to speed things up.
The Ghost Train needs a soundtrack again.
But credit where it's due, the revamp inside is in the right direction.

As for people saying make the park free again to walk around.
    I disagree completely.
The place in the 90s used to attract trouble that would just loiter around and cause problems.
It was unpleasant and people gloss over that.
paying to get in has cleaned this place up drastically.
    I still fully support that.
safer and friendly environment for everyone.

We go around three times a year.
Thats on top of other numerous parks.
So shows how much we love the place.

This was the best £3.95 spent ever! As a fan of Strictly Come Dancing I had wanted to see the famous ballroom for a while, and as we were in Blackpool we decided to pop in. We thought we would just take a quick look and leave but were mesmerised by the beautiful ballroom and the couples dancing. Then the Wurlitzer came up from the floor of the stage which was magical. It was like stepping back into a different era. So glad we visited. Francis, we will return and do the heritage tour and stay a bit longer in Blackpool and at the ballroom. Wow is all I can say.

I attended the Return to Memphis Ultimate Elvis qualifier, 15th - 17th March 2024.
WOW! The show was amazing - it always is. For any Elvis fans this show is a must.
However I want to talk about the amazing and friendly staff that work at the VIVA. I have been here with friends and family on numerous occassions and can only say FABULOUS things about this place. The staff are so helpful, friendly and fun. Table service is great and quick. Bar service is also quick and the staff are lovely. I cannot fault any of the staff big thanks to the follwoing - Rhiannon, Jake, Tom, Abbie and Paul, but everyone is great all the floor staff, reception, bar staff and security - just so friendly. The catering staff made some delicious food too. I would definitley reccomend this venue for a great, safe and fun night out.

My partner and I had a great time here. It wasn’t too busy and we were able to walk around at our own pace and take photos without much waiting around.

The virtual reality rollercoaster was brill, I would definitely recommend it (not sure my partner would having felt sick afterwards 😅).

If you’re not a Corrie or marvel fan it might not be your thing but I’m not and I enjoyed it anyway.

The bar in rovers return is quite pricey so make sure you are prepared for that.

So after visiting Gruffalo last month (which is next door)
We decided next time we were up this way we would visit sea life.
We came on a day where there seemed to be some schools walking round but it didn’t hinder our visit.
We also weren’t aware that JJ from Coco Melon was here this week - that really made our daughter excited when she saw him walking round the centre.
We got to the first part and met Kyle, he was lovely and told my daughter she could touch things, which after some encouragement from dad she did.
Kyle was telling her about facts of starfish and what a purse is, we loved that.
We walked round the rest of the attraction, the tunnel is amazing!
The green eel is huge and looks prehistoric!!
The part with the UV lights had our 2yr old happy - he didn’t want to move!
I don’t like bugs so I pretty much ran through there but my partner says it was brilliant.
I love that there is info boards next to everything so even if staff aren’t around then you can have your questions answered.
We got to the big window and met Colette who did a talk. She had cleared catered this talk to the school that was in (who looked about 5/6 yrs old)
She got them and my daughter involved, and the facts like the rays nose, the beautiful turtles age and the shark brain have stuck with our daughter (who’s 4) because she interacted and kids seems to remember thing when they are involved.
This lady must have children because she knows how to speak to them like a motherly figure, she gave out stickers and even answered really silly questions with a smile!
The cafe seems the same as gruffalo but without cake (insert sad face)
JJ and his friend were amazing! JJ came and interacted with us and our daughter. She was happy to speak to him but didn’t want to get too close. He is pretty big!!
    We loved our visit.
Thank you sea life, your staff are amazing l, your animals are amazing and we will definitely be back!!

Visited after not being for a good few years, thought we would visit as we had heard Merlin had taken over the waterpark operations- entrance was fast and speedy, changing rooms were cleans and well maintained was nice to see the place busy especially in January. Was nice and warm inside as well. The place itself is amazing a lot to do however nothing had changed since the last few times we had visited same attraction etc, we feel like Merlin taking full ownership would really allow this attraction to have further development and offer more attractions for us to enjoy plus tidy it up a little, theming was starting to look tired, as well as the outside faceade/ signage looking very shabby and needing some work (except the one new sign BPB facing). It just feels like a money pit for the council to have ownership. However we did have an amazing experience obviously there is areas that could be improved on it just needs the right ownership/ leadership involved to pursue this. We will be back in the future however we will wait for some TLC to be given to the park first!

Lovely park which is surprisingly situated almost in the centre of Blackpool. You feel like you are in the countryside somewhere. Plenty of parking on the street around the park or up the drive. There is also a small carpark near the cafe. We had a nice walk around the lake and then went to the playground. I'm sure it says on the signs for people to keep their dogs on leads, but a lot do not. One dog ran up behind my daughter (who was just about getting over her fear of dogs) and jumped up at her. We tried shooing it away but it took no notice and neither did its owner. Unfortunately she is now scared of dogs again. People can be selfish.

Wow!! Amazing show and Jonny love was fantastic 👌🏼

The venue was great, quite pricey for drinks in the bar but to be expected.
