Small but perfectly formed! Popped in during one of my many visits, as it's a place I had always meant to see. And I wasn't disappointed. Might not be the biggest museum you'll ever see, but the staff were very enthusiastic, and the exhibits painted a very interesting picture of local history over the millennia.
Speaking of paintings, they also feature a lot of work by local artists. A return visit is planned.

First of this museum is part of the Fort George. Second the museum is a history on a former Royal 👸 Regiment that belonged to the late Prince 🫅 Philip. Lastly, it is fun 🤩 place to go .

If you're in or even close to Inverness this gallery is well worth the trip. We stopped to park close and found the gallery on a walk into town. The selection and variety of their work is great and they represent some top-notch artists. I ended up buying two pieces that they gladly shipped back to the states for me. The packing was excellent and the most beautiful prints arrived safe and are now hanging on my walls at home. I can't say enough about what a delight this gallery was. Wish I lived closer to visit again!

We had a very special experience at the Brown Gallery! Gordon, the owner, took the time to describe each artist and their inspiration. He was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and wonderful with my 9 year old, Lily. The gallery itself was extremely inviting and beautiful with a wide variety of installations. We highly recommend that you visit this unique gem during your time in Inverness. It’s the perfect place to find a Scottish piece to add to your collection.

Visiting the bunker was great, we learnt so much about our own town's history that we had never heard about before. Ian has done a great job in restoring the bunker to how it would have been. It was fun to try things out too, especially the plotting room where we learnt it was the woman who did most of the work!

A very informative exhibition about the history of kilts and kiltmaking. Good value at only £2.50 per adult for less than an hour, but if you have a group I would probably recommend you take the guided tour to get more out of it.

We were delighted by the variety of work on display and thrilled that we bought a raku-fired ceramic figure by Iain Campbell. The gallery director, Jane, was friendly and informative. The work is affordable, too. It is in a former church a few miles from Inverness. If you like to see what local artists are creating, you won't want to miss this gallery.

Apparently this is the oldest house in Inverness. Inside there is a nice and interesting display of pictures and stories about key events in the history of this city. The staff is knowledgeable and ready to answer any questions. Unfortunately only one room was open to the public when I went; the visit ended in 20 minutes. Still worth tho.

There are two galleries across the street from one another, Classic run by father and Modern by son. Restorers, framers, sales, and nicer collections than many small museums. Impressive stock and smart, relatable staff. Well worth stopping by.

A community running non profit local history museum. Staff are volunteers and very enthusiastic. The displays are great and consist of most everything of old days household items which reminds people their teen-age time. The RAF, the marine etc etc.
