What travelers are saying
- Janne AEindhoven, The Netherlands54 contributionsIt was nice, I just wish that I would have known upfront that the basement was closed. I would also suggest creating more sitting areas for the disabled/old/pregnant/tired people amongst us.Written August 9, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Anda NegulescuBucharest, Romania49 contributionsWe went to Landesmuseum and plunged in natural history with a lot of families with kids, enjoying all the fish and wild animals on display. Going up, we visited temporary exhibition The Real Thing collating paintings of old masters with some of the works of Glenn Brown (mainly portraits and landscapes). Interesting contrasts that convey their message to the visitor.
The building itself is an architectural beauty located opposite the New Town Hall palace and close to Maschsee and Aegidienkirche.Written May 9, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We stopped here at the museum which is packed with artifacts and information. Items are displayed well with excellent explanations. The museum covers through the early years of flight and the development of aircraft and WW2.
Clearly a labour of love. An excellent visit and recommended, located on the outskirts of Hannover.Written May 26, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Our only complaint was the exhibits only had German explanations and our German is very limited!Written July 29, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mazdak MoraghebiRatingen, Germany135 contributionsWilhelm Busch museum located between green parks and gardens where you after walking through garden meet a old building.
The building called Wilhelm Busch who was one the best during his own period.
The museum allocates to caricatures. Also each season, according to a theme, the subject of caricatures focus on it.Written September 8, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - dedicatedtravellerBishop's Stortford, Herts, England6,083 contributionsWe loved every minute or our fabulous 2 hour tour and then coffee and cake afterwards in the adjoining cafe. Very good value for money too!
You can have tours in English but we had limited time so ours was in German... a very nice lady translated salient points but it wasn't a problem... the museum is all about seeing the astounding mock up kitchens on display - and realising how old you are when things you used in your childhood are now in a museum!!
There is SO much to see! Wonderfully varied through the centuries, decades and countries around the world!!! My husband really enjoyed it too!
Added bonus, you get sample, biscuits, cheese, sausage, even 'a tipple' from some of the kitchens!!! That was unexpected but super!
Big area at end to buy all manner of things plus chocolates.
We had excellent cake and coffee... or tea... 2 slices of cake given for a few euros more after the tour.

I really wanted to visit to see the former royal palace of the usurper House of Hanover. The visit can be roughly divided into three portions. The origin and history of the House of Hanover, the Herrenhausen gardens and pleasure gardens in general, and the period during the reign of the Hanoverians.
Lots of high quality exhibits to see, although the majority of the labels and descriptions were in German. Only about a quarter had any English. What was there was well written and informative. It was still worth visiting anyway as the entrance is only a couple of euros more than the price of the gardens.Written September 18, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. You even get a free tour round the museum by a very capable guide. All my best recommendations for this small museum.Written July 28, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dobran OHannover, Germany11 contributionsFor a city like Hannover, the antiquity exhibition here was impressive. There are not that many exhibits, but the descriptions do a good job filling in what's missing so that the visitor gets a comprehensive chronology of the different ancient civilizations, especially the Egyptian one.
Furthermore, I did not expect to see mummies here, but they have them, along with plenty of information related to research done on them.Written January 5, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. A couple of nice shops.
Everything is clearly marked and it's quite easy to find your way around.
S bahn line goes directly from here to the main railway station in the city centre.Written April 22, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
